Tie with Santa and snowman
I made a tie with print in place hinges. This is the Christmas edition.
I split it in 2, as I have a Prusa MK3S. On that printer it’s a tight fit for the bottom part. Especially because the tip tends to warp, so I needed to add a round modificatory.
There are two pins you can print to attach the bottom half to the top part. But a piece of filament will work as well.
It made my day at the office Christmas party. I wasn’t going to wear it for the Christmas family dinner, but let’s be honest. You can’t not wear this.
There are a few versions, depending on what colour you want to be on top. This is made for a non colour printer. So you need to add layer height colour changes.
My own version in the pictures is a red tie. So Santa’s hat and face as well as the snowman’s scarf and nose are already covered for. For Santa I went with black before white, so the white of the hat and the beard would pop out more. For the snowman, I went for white first, as I liked the black lining better for that figure.
For the moment I’ve made versions for a red tie. If you do not want a red tie, I would need to add an extra colour change to the model. So that Santa will still have a red had and red face. An the snowman will have a red nose and a red scarf. Let me know. I can’t promise to get it done before Christmas 2024 though.
RBW and such in the file names stands for the colour change sequence. Red Black White
Of course, you’re to switch these for any colours of your liking.
You hang it around you neck with a piece elastic band.
