Sen - Forma Vase Collection

Experience the quiet power of rhythmic geometry with Sen, an architectural highlight of the Forma Vase Collection. This vase features a dense array of spiraling vertical ridges that create a captivating texture and a modern, high-end silhouette.

Design & Concept: I designed the Sen vase—named after the Japanese word for "line"—to celebrate the intersection of precision and movement. The form is defined by a soft, teardrop-inspired volume that is entirely wrapped in a tight, helical micro-ribbing. This intricate linework flows across the curves of the vase, creating a shimmering effect as the light catches the hundreds of individual ridges. To emphasize its sophisticated digital craftsmanship, I recommend using a speckled or light-colored filament, which highlights the shadows between the lines and gives the piece the heavy, premium feel of handcrafted ceramic or fine stoneware.

Key Features: Dense Helical Ribbing: A meticulously engineered surface of fine, twisting lines that provide a rich tactile experience. Balanced Sculptural Form: A graceful silhouette that tapers elegantly towards the rim, perfect for minimalist arrangements. Dynamic Light Interaction: The high-relief texture creates a rhythmic pattern of highlights and shadows that shifts with the light. Contemporary Statement: A timeless design that complements modern, industrial, or Zen-inspired interior decors.

Hardware Required: None. This is a single, fully 3D printed sculptural model.

Printing Recommendations: Material: Speckled Blue or Matte Grey PLA (as shown) is highly recommended to accentuate the precision of the fine vertical ridges. Layer Height: 0.16mm is ideal to ensure the micro-ribbing remains sharp and well-defined. Infill: 10–15% Gyroid for structural stability. Walls: 3 Walls to provide a solid, high-quality finish and better moisture resistance. Supports: To ensure the best results, I have included a pre-configured .3mf file with custom support blockers and enforcers. I highly recommend using this file, as the only necessary supports are the ones already placed and optimized within the project to guarantee a clean finish with minimal material waste.
