**Gift Box #12**
_Print-in-Place Version_

This is the twelfth version in a series gift boxes that may all look the same on the outside but they each have a secret way of opening. To open this one, turn the bow 90 degrees. Turning this rotates gears underneath which unlatch the top. A torsion spring keeping the lid from unlocking accidently.

Its roughly 100mm x 100m x 80mm tall. The top prints in place as one part, none of the parts require supports, designed for a .4mm nozzle. The bow and ribbons are printed separately and glued on. I printed all the parts in the orientation the stl’s are provided in. I prefer the vertical orientation for the ribbons for a smoother surface finish.  I added helper pads to them to keep them stable during printing. I printed everything at .2 layer heights but the box could definitely be printed at a larger layer height without issue.

I've always had a desire to create balloon numbers and letters similar to the ones commonly seen at birthdays. I find them incredibly cool and visually appealing. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to pursue this interest until now. The #PartyThangs Contest provided the perfect motivation for me to finally embark on this project.

Hey,
I made another birthday crown.
Currently, Cura somehow won't slice this model, if you can somehow fix that with settings or remeshing please tell me.

You can use supports if you like. But the model can also be printed without them with the right settings. Using supports is the saver way.

To use the cake as a **box/container** please do print the _Cake.stl_ using **"Vase Mode"** or by being sure to put **"0" as "Top Layers"** , so that you can have your print hollowed and use around **12 “Bottom Layers”** whether you print it in Vase Mode or the other option so that your box has a more resistant base.
