Description

These light covers are designed for dual or multicolour printing. Select a translucent filament for the “diamonds”, and an opaque filament for the “stone.”

In order to optimize the optical clarity of the “diamonds,” this portion of the model should be printed with just a single wall thickness and with “top layers” set to zero. Bottom layers can be zero or more depending on your preferences.

Each size has a unique diamond configuration.

Printed on a Bambu P1S at 0.28mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle and Sunlu PLA. The layer lines are prominent... I'm thinking about trying again at a much finer layer height, although I understand that may adversely impact the transparency of the diamonds.

Printed on a Bambu P1S at 0.28mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle and Sunlu PLA. The layer lines are prominent... I'm thinking about trying again at a much finer layer height, although I understand that may adversely impact the transparency of the diamonds.

I printed this in two pieces without a multicolor printer... I printed the diamond part in clear PETG without any bottom shells and then made a vertical cut through the straightest part on the side, which allowed me to roll it inside the container and snap into place. The seam is hidden under the container wall.
