On September 18, 2022, I released the Fidget Bolt on Cults3D. Hard to believe it’s already been three years since then!

In that time, it’s been downloaded over 2,500 times 🤯 across all my platforms — something I never expected when I first uploaded it. The Fidget Bolt was one of my very first designs, and it’s still one of the most popular ones today.

To celebrate this milestone, I’m releasing V3 of the Fidget Bolt! ✨ Now printable with separate bolts in four sizes: 75mm, 85mm, 115mm, and 125mm ✨ Includes matching caps ✨ Plus, a brand new Knurled Twist Nut to go with the original set!

**Before I even purchased my first 3d Printer, The Fidget Bolt was originally designed by me in 2020 during the lockdown as a unique creation for the purpose of selling at future Craft Shows. Once life returned to normal and after showcasing it to my friends and family, they were impressed and encouraged me to make the file available to others.

➡️ Recommended Print Settings

I recommend printing this with a 0.4 Nozzle (0.2 Layer Height, 0.4 Width) 3 walls and 10% Gyroid Infill Minimum. I like to print at 15-25%. For an extra oomph raise the Infill percent to make different clanking noises.

Bambu Printers/MMU Printers, works great as a Purged Object! When purging to object, I recommend turning on purge to infill as well. Print with a 0.4 Nozzle (0.2 Layer Height, 0.4 Width) 3 walls and 25% Gyroid Infill or more for extra filament savings and a nice clanking noise when playing with it!

➡️Notes:

The Original Fidget Bolt has been test printed at 60%, 75%, 100% and 200% (See Group Photo). The tolerances (0.6mm) between 75-200% make this operate fine. However if it is not spinning, I suggest twisting it manually until it has sanded itself down. You can also add some Skateboard Bearing Oil or other lubricants to the tread. (Tip try water too!)

If you print the Capsule file at 85% size, you can roll up some American and Canadian bills to fit inside!

V.1 of The capsule has been test printed down to 70% but please note it may not work for some printers below 80%.

V.2 of the bolt bottoms capsule threads are now stronger! It has been test printed down to 60% successfully!

The Version 1 of this file prints in three pieces and requires glue to assemble. However, it prints with no supports. Version 2, on the other hand, can be printed in 2 pieces, but you will need to pause the print to slide on the nut before resuming the print. Like Version 1, it prints with no supports. This file is also perfect for use as a Purged Object.

September 20, 2022 V.1

• Prints in three pieces (one file). The middle Nut has to be placed on the threads before gluing on the top Knurled End. I suggest using E6000 or Gorilla Glue.

September 28, 2022 V.1 .1

• No changes to Original V1 File: Prints in three pieces (can print separately). The middle Nut can now be printed separately so you can add extra infill to make it heavier or lighter at your pleasing.

November 15, 2022 V.2

• No changes to Original File: Renamed 'Hexnut Top' to 'Bolt Top'. You can now print the Bolt in One Piece! Print 'Nut' (V1 File) first then print 'Bolt One Piece' and slide 'Nut' on after One Piece is 1/2 to 3/4 finished. Printing this way means NO GLUE! (Only print One Piece if you are confident in your printers pause and resume button)

April 25, 2023

• No changes to Original File: Renamed 'BNS Fidget Bolt Bottom' to 'BNS Fidget Bolt 100mm (Original) Bottom'. By popular demand, you can now print in Additional sizes! I've modified the original Bolt Bottom and added 3 additional lengths! Now includes 75mm, 125mm and 150mm. All sizes plus the 100mm Original work with the Nut and Bolt Top.
