Parabolic Dish for Amateur Radio
Work in progress: I have not yet printed the full dish, I would love any feedback on it.
This is a (parametric) parabolic dish, printable in small parts. Useful for amateur radio, solar concentrators, radio astronomy, etc.
ASSEMBLY After printing, glue the tiles together. Note that the tabs should align straight up and down, that should help with orientation. The .stls also have position information, if you view the files simultaneously (eg, in blender) you can see where each one should go.
Then, cover the dish smoothly with aluminum tape or aluminum foil.
MODIFICATION Contains .scad file if you want a dish with different parameters. Run main.py to generate all the .stls after saving the .scad. If you want to print in fewer pieces, make hex_size as big as will fit on your plate.
SPECS Parameters for the uploaded .stls: diameter = 700mm; focal_dist = 245mm; thickness = 5mm; center_hole_d = 20mm; hex_size = 75mm; (radius)
