Bring a clean and iconic crusader-inspired look to your build with this Templar Knight Cuirass, a wearable medieval chest armor model designed for cosplay, LARP, photoshoots, stage costume builds, fantasy armor sets, and collector projects. The design features a classic knightly silhouette, raised cross detail, riveted trim, and a structured torso shape that works well for Templar, crusader, paladin, holy warrior, and medieval guard style characters.

This version comes precut and slotted, making further cutting, handling, and assembly much easier than trying to produce the full armor as one large part. It is a great choice if you want a build that looks solid and recognizable, while still being practical for home 3D printing.

This model works especially well for:

wearable cosplay armor medieval and crusader costumes paladin / holy knight builds LARP gear fantasy convention outfits theatre costume departments display armor projects painting and finishing practice

The overall shape is clean and versatile, so you can finish it as a more realistic steel breastplate, a dark fantasy relic, or a polished ceremonial knight armor piece.

📏 Measuring Instructions

To get a good wearable fit, take a few simple body measurements before printing:

For cosplay wear:

Measure:

Chest circumference at the fullest part Upper torso width from armpit to armpit Torso height from the top of the chest to the waist area where you want the cuirass to end Neck opening comfort so it sits correctly around the collar area

Then:

Open the model in your slicer. Compare the full assembled size to your body measurements. Scale uniformly if needed. If you are between sizes, it is usually better to scale slightly up for comfort.

Beginner-friendly tip:

A simple way to check width is to measure an old shirt, hoodie, or armor piece that already fits you well, then compare that size to the model in the slicer.

For a better final fit:

You can use foam padding, straps, elastic, or inner lining to fine-tune how it sits on the body. A hairdryer or heat gun on low can also help gently adjust the fit after printing, especially for small shaping corrections.

🖨️ Printing Instructions

Recommended materials:

PLA PLA+ PETG PLA-HT FPLA elastomer-based / flexible filaments for selected comfort-focused parts or experimentation

Printing tips:

Since this version is precut and slotted, print each part in the orientation that gives the cleanest surface and strongest structure. A 0.16–0.2 mm layer height is a good balance between detail and print time. Use enough walls/perimeters for strength, especially on wearable parts. Add supports only where necessary depending on your slicer and chosen orientation. Test-fit the parts before final assembly. Dry-fit the slotted pieces first so you can check alignment before gluing.

For larger wearable projects, many makers prefer:

PLA+ for easy printing PETG for a bit more durability PLA-HT / FPLA if you want improved heat resistance in warmer conditions

🎨 Finishing Tips

This armor can be finished in many different ways depending on the style you want:

Classic Templar / Crusader look: silver or gunmetal base darker wash in seams slightly weathered edges aged iron or brushed steel finish Paladin / Holy Knight style: bright metallic finish gold trim accents clean cross detail polished ceremonial appearance Dark fantasy version: blackened steel battle-worn scratches rust tones grim, relic-like weathering

Basic finishing workflow:

Sand connection points and visible print lines. Assemble the parts. Fill seams if desired. Prime the full piece. Paint with your chosen base color. Add washes, metallic dry brushing, or edge highlights. Seal the final paint job.

If you want a cleaner convention-ready finish, spend extra time smoothing the front chest panel and raised cross detail, since those areas will draw the most attention.
