Assembly Guide: Millie the Garden Gnome (XL & Not So XL) Welcome to the assembly guide for Millie the Gnome. Whether you are building the "XL" or the "Not So XL" version, the process is identical. The primary difference lies in the pre-scaled connector tolerances designed specifically for their respective build plates. Before You Begin: Pro-Tips & Materials

  • Dry Fit First: I strongly recommend a "dry build" (assembling without glue) to ensure you understand part placement before making it permanent.
  • Material Choice: * Indoor: Standard PLA.
    • Outdoor: PETG is recommended.
    • High Heat: Use ABS or ASA for very hot climates.
  • Scaling: You can scale the model yourself, but if you scale down, you may need to reduce the connector size by an additional 1–2%.
  • Orientation: When the instructions refer to "Left" or "Right," it is from the Gnome’s perspective (as if you are Millie), not yours.
  • Filaments Used: Bambu Basic (Black, White, Orange, Red, Yellow, Pink, Mistletoe Green, Green, Beige, bronze, brown) and Matte (Yellow, Sky Blue). Printer Settings & Tolerances
  • Supports: Required for some parts (enabled in the .3mf file).
  • Support Tip: Set Top Z distance to 0.275 for easy removal. Ensure all connector holes are completely cleared of support debris.
  • Tolerances: The model is designed with a 0.1mm to 0.12mm tolerance. If a connector feels too tight—especially in areas that used supports—scale that specific connector down by 1–2%.
  • Infill: suggested 5% on larger pieces, 6-8% on medium pieces and 10-15% on small pieces Step-by-Step Assembly
  1. The Lower Body
  2. Base: Insert the two specific base-to-boot connectors (these are unique in size) into the base and attach the boots.
  3. Legs: Insert four connectors into the top of the boots. Slide the legs over these; the connectors will pass through the legs to reach the bottom dress.
  4. Torso: Attach the bottom dress, then use two connectors to secure the belt. Use two more connectors to attach the top dress to the belt.
  5. Arms & Shoulders
  6. Insert two connectors into each side of the top dress to attach the arms.
  7. Use one connector per arm to attach the hands.
  8. Insert two connectors into the top of the dress to secure the neck.
  9. The Head & Face Note: Build the head assembly separately before attaching it to the body.
  10. Hair: Insert two connectors into the back of the head and attach the hair piece.
  11. Features: Slide the lips and eyebrows into their slots (no connectors required).
  12. Eyes: Assemble the eyes in this order: Eyelash → Large White → Small White (flat side facing back). Then insert the Eye Color → Black Pupil → Reflection. Pay close attention to Left/Right orientation.
  13. Mounting: Slide the completed face onto the neck connectors.
  14. Hat: Secure the hat to the top of the head using two connectors.
  15. Details (Ears & Ponytails)
  16. Ponytail: (3 parts) Insert two connectors into the ponytail and one into the other end. Slide the tie over the single connector, then attach the ponytail end. Repeat for the other side and push them into the hair.
  17. Ears: Use one connector per ear and push them into the sides of the hair. Accessories: Basket, Fruit & Veg
  • The Basket: No supports needed. Slide the two handles into the top holes of the basket. Secure them by sliding the four handle ends (stoppers) onto the handles.
  • The Carrot: Insert the carrot top into the carrot body.
  • The Tomato: Place the top onto the tomato.
Pro Tip: Use a small amount of heat (like a hair dryer) to gently mold the leaves to the curve of the tomato.

  • Produce: The banana and cucumber require no assembly. Simply place all items into the basket. Congratulations! You have successfully completed Millie the Gnome! 0.2 layer, supports required for some of the model
