The Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II Ausf. B, commonly known as the King Tiger, initially featured a turret designed by Porsche (produced by Krupp) before the standardized "Henschel" turret took over. While often called the "Porsche Turret," it was actually Krupp’s initial design for the VK 45.02 (P) prototype. When Henschel won the contract, the first 50 Tiger II chassis were fitted with these already-completed turrets to speed up deployment.
