Kawa - Forma Vase Collection

Experience the serene flow of water with Kawa, a centerpiece of the Forma Vase Collection. This sculptural vase features a unique, twisting indentation that mimics the natural path of a river winding through a canyon.

Design & Concept: I designed the Kawa vase—named after the Japanese word for "river"—to capture the elegance of fluid erosion. The silhouette is defined by a soft, organic volume that is dramatically interrupted by a deep, helical groove spiraling toward the rim. To achieve the premium, artisanal look shown in the photos, I recommend using a speckled or stone-effect filament. The subtle texture of the material, combined with the model’s smooth undulations, creates a sophisticated interplay of light that emphasizes its sculptural depth. This makes Kawa an ideal statement piece for modern minimalist interiors or Zen-inspired spaces where design meets nature.

Hardware Required: None. This is a single, fully 3D printed sculptural model.

Printing Recommendations: Material: Speckled Blue or Grey PLA (as shown) is highly recommended to give the vase a realistic stoneware or river-stone finish. Layer Height: 0.16mm or 0.20mm is ideal for maintaining the smooth transition of the curved surfaces. Infill: 10–15% Gyroid. Walls: 3 Walls for structural integrity and a high-end, solid feel. Supports: To ensure the best results, I have included a pre-configured .3mf file with custom support blockers and enforcers. I highly recommend using this file, as the only necessary supports are the ones already placed and optimized within the project to guarantee a clean finish with minimal material waste.
