Hana - Hoshi lampshade

Bring a touch of modern minimalism and framed light to your space with the Hana - Hoshi lampshade. Designed as a specialized companion for the Hoshi base, this lampshade features a unique pill-shaped cutout that provides a focused window of bright illumination while maintaining a soft, diffused glow throughout the rest of the room.

Design & Concept: I designed the Hana lampshade—named after the Japanese word for "flower" or "brilliance"—to experiment with directed light. The cylindrical body features a clean, smooth surface that acts as a perfect diffuser. The signature element is the vertical, oval-shaped portal that creates a "frame" for the light, casting a stronger beam in one direction while the printed walls soften the ambient light elsewhere. This dual-lighting effect makes it an ideal lamp for reading nooks or as a sophisticated accent on a bedside table.

Key Features: Iconic Portal Design: Features a precise, pill-shaped cutout that allows for a direct path of light. Soft Diffusion: The translucent walls are engineered to glow warmly, hiding the bulb while scattering light evenly. Modular Integration: Designed specifically to sit securely atop the Hoshi - Lamp Base for a unified, modern aesthetic. Minimalist Silhouette: A clean, architectural form that fits effortlessly into contemporary, Scandinavian, or Zen-inspired interiors.

Hardware Required: Hoshi - Lamp Base: This shade is designed to be used with the Hoshi base. LED Bulb: A low-heat LED bulb is strictly recommended to protect the 3D printed material from heat deformation.

Printing Recommendations: Material: Translucent White PLA or Matte White PLA is highly recommended to achieve the pure, glowing effect shown in the photos. Vase Mode: This model can be printed in Spiral Vase Mode for a seamless, fast finish, provided your extrusion width is set appropriately for strength. Layer Height: 0.20mm is ideal for a smooth, uniform surface that diffuses light perfectly. Supports: None. The geometry of the pill-shaped cutout is optimized to print 100% support-free.
