As of early 2026, over 80,000 Americans remain unaccounted for from past conflicts, including World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) leads the relentless national mission to recover and identify these service members to provide a full accounting to their families.
