This mask was actually inspired by the face of the Yugioh card 'Elemental Hero Flame Wingman." Later on, I wanted to come up with a power (since the mask needed a name,) and I settled on an theme unrelated to wingman. The idea of the 'mask of empathy' is that it allows the user to create a connection between themselves and another nearby being: as long as the connection is maintained by the will of the wearer, any wound inflicted upon one of them will appear on the other. It would probably be considered an immoral mask by most Toa.

The idea came from the pokemon moves 'pain split,' and 'destiny bond.'
