I made this because the small plastic safety shield that came with my rotary tool was too small and didn't block much when grinding and sanding plus it was difficult to see where the material was making contact, so I made this wider and taller safety shield.

The shield has two slots 35mm in height, giving 17.5mm of adjustment up and down so you can set the height on the drill press with the Track Brakes then raise or lower the safety shield to precisely where you want it.

The slot in the safety shield is 3.25mm wide to accomodate a 3mm piece of acrylic, polycarbonate, clear plastic etc. You can repurpose almost any type of transparent material. The Inner dimensions of the safety shield frame are 85mm Heighty by 81.5mm Width - I suggest cutting your material slightly less - I cut an acrylic panel 84mm x 80.5mm and it fits perfectly and is very snug.

I designed this with alot of chamfered surfaces so it can be printed upright with a brim and no supports as referenced in the photo.

Best printed with PLA+ at 10% moisture with 50% triangular infill.
