Hedra – Headphones Holder

Hedra is a sculptural 3D printable headphones holder designed to store your headphones with very little pressure on the ear pads while also avoiding unnecessary stress on the headband.

The body gently narrows in the middle, so the headphones rest mainly on the headband instead of compressing the ear cushions. At the top, the support area is wide enough to distribute weight evenly, helping prevent sharp bends or pressure points on the headband during long-term storage.

The design combines a structural frame with decorative infill plates. The plates intentionally expose the gyroid infill, turning a functional print structure into a visible design feature.

Both plates click into the body without glue. The bottom plate includes a small access hole, allowing it to be pulled out easily, for example when cleaning dust from inside the holder or removing the plate.

Dimensions Overall size: 255 Γ— 90 Γ— 90 mm Minimum build plate size: 220.7 Γ— 220.7 mm

If your printer is slightly smaller, you can scale the model down by a few percent. Important: always scale all parts equally to ensure proper fit of the click-in plates.

How do you get the lovely pattern in the front plate? Mine has come out plain.

@maryheckles You need to ensure that your top and bottom layers are set to zero; that way, the infill pattern can show through. The .3mf already had this setting adjusted for me. When I first opened the model in my slicer, it looked solid, but after slicing it, the preview showed the pattern. 😊
