This model is great aesthetically, however the base may need more inner width room at the top to accomodate e27s that have the dual tightening rings, as only the ones with the less protruding fixed lower collar fit. Also just a little more length overall (about 5-10mm) would help the cord from bending so severely at the end where it meets the cap. Also its VERY delicate for commercial sales but can be done.. ANOTHER idea would also be a slightly smaller mini lamp/puck light version! ;)
I agree this one is a bit delicate! I’ll see if in the future I can update the pattern so it’s stronger. The bottom I had extended but seems not enough I’ll extend it a bit more to give more space for the cord to fit without a big bend.
Also i could design my own base(I even thought of making a puck light version/fitter), but i didnt know if you would mind- I am a subscriber and just noticed that you re-vamped your liscense tiers, so i may jump up to the next tier to support ya! TY keep em rollin'!
I appreciate it, its an awesome make! Also my question about the e27 pendant fitting, did you see what i mean there? The topside screw-on tightener sticks out about 9.5 mm and the bottom ring thats built-in on the socket at the bottom sticks out only about 3.5mm so it slides up in and fits fine,, BUT if i wanted to use a diff e27 socket with dual screw-on rings, theres not enough room for it to fit in the base. hate to ask that the whole base gets reconfigured BUT it may be good in the long run.
Hey! I'm not sure if you're using the lamp cord in the description but with that one there is no moving or sliding. If you are using it you must be assembling it incorrect. You have to put together the base/shade/attachment first. Once those are together you slide the lamp cord from the bottom and the threads will stick up from the top of attachment. Then you insert the built in ring from the cord from the top of the shade to the threads and tighten it all together.
Sorry, to be clear - i DO have the same one and that one fits correctly b/c the bottom collar(lip) of the e27 is smaller than the top one that screws on to lock it ll together. So fitting that one is not the issue. The issue is that if I want to use another type of e27 that has the DUAL screw on rings theres not enough room in the base for the bottom ring to fit as the base too narrow to accomodate, so youre basically locked in to using only that particular e27 fixture. thats what i meant, sorry
I see I understand. I believe adjusting that would end up making the bases more wide and in my opinion they’re already too wide. I want to keep the bases and thin as possible so there’s more options when it comes to designing instead of every base being wide. Making a seperate one with wide opening will also require more parts and designs for each lamp which gets confusing for downloaders.
Sorry I have to make ONE more point about the base sizes that i forgot to mention: If the specific e27 goes out of stock or is not made anymore - ALL your bases will be redundant, THAT was a point i forgot to mention which could be a major issue down the line. i wouldnt expect you to remake all bases, BUT going fwd, I feel u may want to design to accomodate the slightly larger "dual screw on ring" e27 fixtures..
There is actually a lot of others that are exactly as the one I linked. Many more choices when it comes to the light kit that specific one isn’t required. I didn’t design them for dual ring as I find this one the best. I’ve use these for 3 years with another brand and never had issues. If they’re out of stock there’s hundreds of other listings with the same setup as this kit.
Not a prob I just wanted to bring that point up. as long as these are readily available then it shouldnt be a prob that was my only concern. ty
I agree about the slim aesthetic for sure, and "keeping it simple" is def a good choice. I just wanted to let ya know about that just so others may know that only that one type of electronic component fits so they make sure to get the correct one. I appreciate the replies TY.
