SwitchBot Door Alarm Door/Window Sensor - Outdoor Case
Most Zigbee sensors are not designed to handle the weather outdoors (Don't ask me how many sensors I killed before I worked this out). Rain can instantly kill them and the temperature can make the sensor disconnect randomly. That is were this case design comes in! This protects your sensor/magnet and will help it survive the United Kingdom rainy weather! This style of case has now been tested by many members of the public and tested the same designed (with the Ikea Door/Window Sensor) on my own front gate and been great for the past 2 years!
Dimensions inside the case (Model: W1201500): Sensor: 25.5mm Width x 70.5mm Height x 23mm Depth Magnet: 12mm Width x 35mm Height x 12.5mm Depth
Mounting:
- Use a screw through the case (Front to back Sensor: 20mm. Magnet: 18mm).
- Zip tie to the post through the base holes (Max 5mm wide). Use a nut and bolt to seal the case (M4 16mm).
Suggestion: As this sensor has a light sensor, white colour option would allow the to work (with verifying offset values depending upon application). Black would block all light and not allow this feature to work anymore.
