Night Light Lilies - The Lily of the Valley Night Light

Instructions Hardware Filaments

Night Light Lilies - Advanced

Lily of the valley is a beautiful white flower that grows in the wild. I was brainstorming ideas for what flowers I could turn into a night light and these were the perfect option. This light puts of a soft light that is great for use in a bathroom, bedroom, or living space where you want a night light.

This model is more of an art project than a 3d print. Assembling it takes a little bit of time and a bit of patience. So be ready for craft time!

I had no idea how to get lights into such a tiny flower. But after doing some research I realized fiber optics would be a perfect fit for something like this, even though its something totally different from what i've designed before.

How does it work?? A puck light is placed in the bottom of the pot. There is a housing that holds fiber optics on top of each of the tiny LEDs lights in the puck light. The fiber optics wind their way though the stems and end inside the flower, which acts as a shade for the light and makes the flower glow!

Pretty happy with a successful first print of this. Made the pot in White Marble PLA as it matches the style of most of my wives houseplant pots! Loving this design...although was a fiddly build
I had to remake this. I think there is step that should be added to the instructions. The fiber optics should be pushed through the bottom holes in the puck and then trimmed after the wedges are put in place. This makes each fiber get direct light from the LED.

I also used a metal pick (like the one you use for vinyl crafting) to slightly widen the holes on the lilies for the fiber optics and the connection point. It wasn't perfect but most of the lilies connected well (but one or two do have a bit of fiber showing).
Must have done something wrong, or its too close to the end of October, but the flowers came out looking like skulls...
i have a lot of this led lamp identical design( chinese version )
but not luck, is not the same led placement.

I have buy a licence just for this superbe creation. lol

My bad :/
The Lily Night Light you ever need.....
Not bad for my first go ^_^ Made some mistakes like the pot holders breaking off and cutting the fiber a bit too short but this was really awesome to make and I know exactly what to avoid when I print it again 🙏🏾 Usually I give up 1/4 of the way through my forgecore projects so I'm super excited about this one

thank you for those awesome instructions and for the links and for always laying things out in the easiest way possible ^_^

I went with a stone colored base because this was originally for my son's room and he's fascinated by my prints that can light up.
stunning model!! one of my favs

I understand your disappointment with the other LED layout option. This design is specifically built for the puck light linked in the description, which will work correctly. We are also exploring the addition of other LED layout options in the future but currently we only have the one.

Pffft! You got me. The way they don't show as super different until lit up is brilliant.

Hi, They do look like skulls in your print,. I'm not sure how that happened for you, but they do look to be missing a bit of the shape. are you using the 3m file? I'm more than happy to help figure this out

James D
james.x.donovan

I should have used /s. I remixed a cc4.0 skull file to fit the filaments and branches.

Colby G

That makes a lot more sense now xD

If possible, could you update the matching file for the Bamboo LED? The LED you recommended is very hard for me to purchase. I tried to change the layout of the light holes by myself, but failed. It should be that my method was incorrect.

Colby G

Thanks for sharing your experience. We’ve been made aware that some people have had trouble sourcing this specific LED, so we’re looking into adding alternative layout options in future updates; stay tuned!

I have been looking forward to your good news.

In the future, can you upload so that its not just bambu studio that recognizes the model? Placing them on seperate plates and saving the models as .3mf's is cool if you are using bambu slicer or orca slicer, but if we use anyother software then it wont read the .3mf

Colby G
ForgeCore

We do strongly recommend using Bambu Slicer, because then you don't have to change any settings, mess around with colors etc. We do all that for you. It allows us to make sure the most people get good prints, since our models typically have some weird nuance to the settings.

Pasting there bambu studio link here for you Bambu Studio Download

If this is something you really would prefer not to do. let me know and I will see what i can do about uploading packs of STL files again

Talridam
Talridam

Can you upload the STL for this?

A
alianoraree

I, too, really prefer getting .stl's of the individual pieces. (I don't like Bambu Studio, and I don't like being locked into a particular slicer.) And it's just easier to keep track of what I've printed and how if I can move individual files into different folders, because while your settings may be great for the majority, I do need to test tweaks to optimize some of them for my machine, filaments, and preferences. I'd be grateful if you'd include the separate .stl's with instructions, like your older models.

A
alianoraree

Unless I'm missing something (which is possible), on the non-split files I also have to make each setting change individually rather than being able to make changes from my preferred profiles, since those I pick Global and plates have to be determined through Objects. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying.

This is so cute! I’m going to make it for my granddaughter. Do you know if Bambu Labs puck light will work?

Colby G
ForgeCore

Thank you, I am glad you like it! The Bambu Lab pucks aren't compatible because the light holder is specific to the puck I linked in the description. I suggest ordering that specific one

Hello, I'm in Europe, so I'm looking to a product compatible. Can you tell wich quote we have to be focus on to check compatibility ? Thanks

I've found this one in the UK

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DHH4JZWW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Which works with the model perfectly.

Colby G
ForgeCore

Compatibility is determined by the number/ placement of the LED lights They have to match up with the guide we have designed. That is why I suggest ordering the one linked in the description.

Selwyn v

When we want to order these it's more then $17 to Europe. It's not interesting to sell them with a profit margin. Anyway an idea to look for EU version of the diffuser?

GIGI M

You can entrust a friend in China to buy in bulk, because the cost of shipping in bulk to Europe is not too expensive.

Loïc R

I would like to but I can't find someone who have the same light plug as listed.
