Compact Phone and Planter Desk Tray – Sumi

I made this little desk tray because my old one was taking up way more space than I liked. I still wanted somewhere to rest my phone, keep a tiny plant alive, and have a spot for all those runaway Post-its and AirPods. So I set out to shrink the footprint without losing the functionality I love.
This version is as compact as it gets while still doing it all. It props your phone at about a ten-degree angle—perfect for glancing at notifications—and has a smooth, twist-off planter that looks seamless when it’s in place. No chunky lines or awkward joins here. Plus, there’s a built-in drip tray under the planter to catch excess water so you never have to worry about soggy Post-its.
You can print the whole thing in about two hours, totally support-free. The planter itself is sixty millimeters wide, which fits a mini succulent just right. And up front, there’s still a bit of space to keep small trinkets or sticky notes handy.
How to Use or Customize Just print the two parts—the tray and the planter—snap or twist them together, and you’re set. You can use any filament you like, so go wild with colors to match your workspace.
Components You'll Need Nothing extra! Everything’s 3D printed.
Printing Tips No supports needed. The tolerances are already dialed in for an easy twist-off fit.
Hope this little tray brings some order and a touch of green to your desk! I’d love to see your prints if you give it a go.
