when scaling to 50% the joints don't hold up. Any future thoughts to make small keychain versions that don't break as easily?
Trying to scale them down to 50% will definitely cause weaker joints. At that size, the links and connection points get much thinner, so they become much more prone to breaking. To really make them work well that small, they would need to be redesigned specifically for mini/keychain use with fewer moving parts, thicker joint areas, and no glass eyes.
I have thought about making smaller keychain versions before. I may end up doing them more like some of my other designs with only 3 moving parts
the painted version is it supposed to print in separate parts? when i clicked it to move it on the plate it took one of the body parts not the entire thing.
no it should be 1 piece what slicer are you using?
Front joints too thin at 100 scaling only 1 wall, needed to add rhombus to strengthen front leg joints
Thank you for bringing this up. I went ahead and fixed the model and made those areas thicker. They are now 2 walls. New Versions are named v2
The copy i downloaded looks painted differently than the photos do you have that file?
The colors in the slicer or the actual image? there should be two painted version on for glass eyes and the other for printed eyes.
