Prevent frustration, hand cramps, and ruined work with this clever self-closing mock ring holder. No more paper clips, no more stiff pinkies, no more cutting out sections thanks to a ring that self-closed too early.

When creating a self-closing mock ring for your next tatting project, simply rest the SCMR holder in the thread loop to:

1. hold the loop open and prevent it from closing accidentally
2. prevent your thread from twisting on itself
3. prevent hand cramps now that you no longer need to hold the loop open with a finger

Suitable for both shuttle tatting and needle tatting, the SCMR holder is lightweight and compact to fit in any tatting bag or caddy. Tabs on either end of the tool help keep the thread in place while the tool is in use, and a built-in loop allows you to attach a jump ring for a lanyard or chatelaine. (Jump ring, lanyard, or chatelaine not included.)

3D print this ready-to-go STL file in your choice of material and color; I use PLA.

Printing recommendations:

• If you have adhesion issues, use a brim or helper discs on the two ends of the SCMR Holder.
• Printing with a 0.2mm or 0.25mm high-detail nozzle is highly recommended, since the catch tabs on the ends of the SCMR Holder will work better.
