This kit enables you to divert water from a downspout that is approximately 72mm x 72mm (~2-7/8" square) square into those blue plastic barrel regularly used for rain storage. Must provide your own min 36mm inner diameter/max 40mm outer diameter hose as well as hose clamp, and zip tie.

Installation instructions

  1. Use the main body as a guide to make a cut out in your downspout so you can fit it into a straight section. Has to be used in a downspout section where the port can be facing downward.
  2. Fit the adapter nut over the hose adapter then use a min 36mm inner diameter hose along with a hose clamp to secure the hose to the hose adapater.
  3. Then simply thread the adapter nut onto the main body of the diverter.
  4. Thread the Water collector into the hole with the large threaded hole in your plastic liquid drum (Typically blue plastic barrels).
  5. Fit the filter into the water collector.
  6. Fit the other end of your 36mm min inner diameter hose into the 40mm opening on the water collecter and use a adaquate length ziptie to secure if needed.
  7. Finally screw in the air vent into the small threaded hole. (This is optional and just helps the water flow in and out of your rain barrel. (this model has a custom support so the bottom unsupport edge prints better, use a flat blade screwdriver to remove after printing)

Printing instructions:

  • I used PLA but more weather resistant material may be needed depending on location.
  • 0.20mm layer height especially for the air lock as it had a custom designed support which needs to be removed after printing.
  • I used 15% Infill but it shouldn't mater much most stuff is thin enough there isnt much infill to begin with.
  • I used organic supports to support the port on the mainbody, Otherwise supports should not be needed on the other models.
