Sunglasses Holder - The Cubist Rack
Follow for weekly drops! One new design. Every week. Be the first to print it. 🙌
I’ve always been fascinated by 2D shapes that trick the eye into seeing 3D geometry, and I wanted to bring that visual magic into something functional—so I designed this Cubist Sunglass Holder! The repeating cuboid pattern feels infinite and just looks so satisfying on the wall. Each face is a different color, which really makes it pop—especially if you’ve got a multi-material printer. I think it adds a unique design edge that sets it apart from the usual sunglass storage options.
A Home for Your Shades I wanted a simple, stylish way to keep sunglasses scratch-free and easy to grab. This does exactly that—mount it by your front door, drop your glasses on when you walk in, and grab them on your way out. Clean, functional, and easy to love.
Snap-Fit, Glue-Free Assembly This is one of my favorite parts of the build! It’s a four-piece design that comes together without a single drop of glue. I spent a lot of time dialing in the compliant hook connectors to get a satisfying, sturdy snap-fit. I even made tiny test “coupons” that printed in under 10 minutes so I could quickly iterate and perfect the fit.
Color Customization + Multi-Material Ready If you’ve got a multi-material printer like an AMS, this is a great model to experiment with. Each cuboid face can be printed in different colors to create a striking, high-contrast pattern. Of course, it also looks awesome in a single color—totally up to you!
Easy to Print and Mount No supports needed, and I’ve included a pre-sliced 3MF file to make things even smoother. One tip: if your first layer isn’t sticking well, try reducing your first layer speed. Worked for me every time. And the built-in keyholes on the back? They took a few iterations, but now they’re just right for mounting with standard screws and staying super secure.
This was a really fun blend of design and functionality to bring to life. Hope it adds something cool and clever to your wall—and if you remix the color pattern, I’d love to see what you come up with!

So cool! I’m printed a blue color scheme one
Awesome!!
