Leather Strap Cutter with Blade Storage - Customizable Width
I made this modular kit for quick and precise cutting of leather straps. This is based around a standard 60mm utility knife blade. It is easy to use and works a treat. 20mm and 25mm size cutting blocks are included and a F3D file is included for quick and easy remixing if you need different widths; refer to the photo for easy remixing. NOTE* You will need to extrude equally on both sides for proper dimensions if you remix.
A 3D mockup of a standard utility knife blade is also included if needed for size reference (this isn't intended to be printed, it is for reference if you want to resize etc.)
You will notice in the photos that I used different color filaments - I was trying to use up some partial rolls of filament, it had nothing to do with the design :)
Best printed with a rigid filament like PLA+, ASA, CF PLA etc. with 4 walls and 50% triangular infill with properly dried filament.
Reference the photos for the bolt sizes. The two bolts that attach the cutter block to the handle are 40mm long, and the six bolts that attack the lock plates to the cutter block are 10mm long. I used M4 bolts.
Works great with thick and thin leather, though with thin leather you may need to anchor the leather with masking tape etc. since it tends to wrinkle up under tension.
Dry your filament, eat your vegetables, don't do drugs.
