Heated Insert Press (Detachable Soldering Iron)
This 3D Printed Guide is designed to hold a soldering iron perfectly vertical for pressing in heated inserts.
This press uses 3d Printed and non-3D printed components:
1: M8x30mm 6: M3x16mm 4: M3x20mm 2: M3x4mm 3: M3x8mm 11: M3x5.7mm Heated Inserts 4: M3 Nuts 1: 608 Ball Bearing 2: M6x300mm Steel Rods (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082ZNKJ5B?th=1) 1: 6mmx~400mm Timing Belt (Zip tied Down) ~100: U.S. Pennies (Used for adding mass to the counterweight)
If you don't have spare belt, I believe string or wire would work okay as a substitute.
This is a design doesn't have any bearings for the linear movement so I found that I had to put a little bit of lubricant on the rods and Slider piece to get them to slide smoothly.
The .STEP file is available for people who may need it or if they want to adjust anything in the build.
