Now you can get the most articulated Snake ever!!! The segments can be rotated complete 360 degree.

Update 14.02.2025: Take a look at my models. There you can find the model with updated connection that it can not rotate complete 360 degree if you do not want this!

I added a test file that you can check before, if your printer settings will work without printing the single parts together.

The design is made for support free printing! I used 2 walls and 15% infill and a brim with 0.6mm distance to the object and had to remove a lot of small areas between the segments, but may also work without.

There are 3 sizes:

Snake 250: Will fit on a 250mm x 250mm printbed and has with its 275 segments + head + tail tip a straight lenght of around 1.7 meters !!!

Snake 300: With 430 segments and a 20% bigger head it will fit on a 300x300 printbed. The straight length will be more than 2,3 meters !!!

Snake 180: For small beds like on the Prusa Mini and Bambu Lab A1 Mini with a 180mm x 180mm printbed. With 150 segments it will have a straight length of 0,8 meters !!!

The smallest segments have in all versions nearly the same size that it works with the part distance for printing. Do not scale it down, but you can upscale it.

I only had to rotate each segment that it works smooth.

The segments can be removed for repair, so don't worry if it breakes somewhere. Just assemble it without the broken part or print the broken part new. Tested it with the big segments, the small segments may not work. Just rotate it 90 degrees like shown on the detail picture with golden segments.

It took me hours to create this, because the first final model with reptile surface had 12 million vertices…the waiting times were awefull ;-) The first final stl file i exported had 1.15gb!

I redesigned it and added the scales instead of a reptile surface.
