Lily Pad Cupholder - Pool Can Holder with Self Adjusting petals

Instructions Hardware Filaments

Lily Pad Cupholder - Advanced I designed the Lily Pad Cupholder to hold my drinks when at the pool. This water lily is a super fun way to keep your drink afloat. The petals mechanically close around your drink to keep it stable.

**But how does it float? ** This was designed to be buoyant and stable even when a full can is placed inside. It floats because of the air trapped inside the infill. This keeps it floating enough so the can sits elevated. That way pool water doesn't get in your drink.

Assembly Video

2 Versions There are two versions of the water lily. One with mechanical petals, and a basic version that is a simpler print. The Basic version can be used with tall cans, and normal cans.

Where did the idea come from? This design came about few months late. The idea for a lily pad cupholder was given to me by Elle Stvdio a few weeks ago. And even though we only have about a month of summer left, i felt like this design needed to exist, so we went for it. Don't worry, I have several new designs coming out that are more fall-themed.

ASA vs PLA Filament If you plan on using this on hot days for extended periods of time, use ASA filament, it will be less prone to warping overtime in the hot sun. PLA can warp. I tested this on a full day when it was 85 degrees and it didn't warp because the pool was cool. But If left sitting outside of the pool it could warp

came out perfect. I had to shave away parts of the levers to make the petals fit, and some of them are a bit loose, so they like to fall before the drink is in, but that is super easy to deal with. It is an impressive-looking gift for a pool owner.

Well this was fun! What a nice addition to my bath just for the heck of it.

Printed the base in PETG (because I like my baths hot!) and the rest in PLA.

I printed the simple version because I really wanted to try it out in my inflatable hot tub before the weather got cold. This worked great! As the can got empty it lost some stability when the jet was on but it managed to stay upright!

Printed to take to Hilton Head for the Labor Day weekend. This worked like a charm! It can handle so many varying drink container sizes.
Very Cool! Very Stable. Holds drink can well.
Minor Issues with Pad. But overall badass design.......

Only issue I am having is the petals fold in after I take the drink back out. Other than that, great design!
