I highly recommend using **high-quality Matte PLA filaments** to ensure smoother movement. I personally used **eSun Matte PLA**, which performed excellently. In my tests with generic PLA brands, the pages didn't slide well. Please keep this in mind when choosing your materials!

**For a more premium feel and a secure closure**, I’ve included slots for **four 6mm x 2mm magnets.** This ensures the album stays closed even when you're on the go!

Assembling the cover might seem tricky at first. I recommend gently bending the sections to help the pins slide into place. _While the plastic is flexible, please be careful not to over-bend it to avoid damage._

Hey,
this is an Advent Calendar made out of Christmas Ornaments that can be opened.
All of these Ornaments are numbered, if you want to print them without numbers, use the [Secret Stash](https://than.gs/m/1469811) File. I had to separate them both because of the file size on the upload.

The mechanism is a new invention by me, inspired by the genius animations of [Javad Taba](https://x.com/smjtyazdi).

There are 4 Different looks. You can see them in the [PDF guide](https://than.gs/pr/251805). Or in the pictures.

**You need:**
6 Connectors
1 Cap
Pieces 2–6
one numbered piece.

**Print Settings:**
Standard. No supports needed. If your prints are sagging, enable supports.

**Assembly:**

**Troubleshooting:**

Make sure the Pieces are actually ordered clockwise. If thats the case print a bigger or smaller cap depending on whats the problem.
**Connectors are hard do push in:**
Print one of the smaller connectors in the troubleshooing folder.

Secret Stash Christmas Tree Ornaments that can hold Gifts

**Flying Squid – Mechanical Biomimicry Build Kit**

The Flying Squid is a fully mechanical build kit that mimics the natural motion of a squid’s tentacles. The linkage system recreates smooth, organic movement using only printed parts—no electronics, hardware, or extra components required.

This design is part of my _Biomimicry Series_, where I turn the most requested animals from my video comments into working mechanical models.

The kit is designed for standard FDM 3D printers and assembles entirely by hand.

**What’s included:**
- All STL files
- Backup individual part files (for easy replacement)
- Step-by-step assembly instructions
- Print settings and guidance

**All parts are organized to either:**
- Fit neatly inside the printed box, which also serves as the base, or
- Attach to a single sprue tree that holds all linkage components together

A satisfying mechanical build, display piece, and conversation starter—driven purely by motion and clever geometry.

This drawer organizer features a compact storage system with 10 individual drawers, designed for easy assembly and everyday use.

Whether printed in a single color or with manual color changes, the organizer works the same and keeps full functionality.

**⚠️ UPDATE**
I’ve added a modular version of the drawers (front and body printed separately).

During testing, I noticed that printing the drawers in two colors as a single piece could cause slight deformation due to the filament change in that specific area.

To solve this, I redesigned the drawers into two separate parts. This allows each piece to be printed independently, resulting in a cleaner finish when using multiple colors.

You will now find both options in the download:
– Original single-piece version
– Optimized modular version

This way, you can choose the one that best fits your printing setup.
