The model is thought to be moved from a gridfinity grid so decided on 1x 1.5 grid size (Yes half grid is now a thing)

Since most of the weight is over the "full" grid square, you could probably just hang the half grid square off the end of your table/grid if it's not up against a wall. That's my solution to the OCD problem at least.
Yes this is the idée and how i have mounted. See new picture. I only had a 3x2 gridfinity on my solder station so hanging over the edge in air. No stability problem found so far :)
