**Version 2.1 Changes:** Updated push-fit pegs to new Multiboard standard bolt-locked inserts.  This allows you to use a [Small Thread - Lite Multipoint](https://than.gs/m/1123321) to lock in a [Heavy Weight-bearing Hook Snap](https://than.gs/m/1130430) to insure the spool holder never falls of the Multiboard tile.  I've never experienced the spool holder falling off the Multiboard, but if any of you have here is your solution.  If you don't have any issues with this, there is no need to update.

**Version 2.0 Changes:** Modified frame to take up less real estate on the Multiboard tiles.  Added some texture to the frame for aesthetics.  Roller and axles remain unchanged.

**Multiboard Mounted Spool Roller/Holder**
Spool roller for Multiboard system.  I designed this to hold spools for my Bambu XC1 that aren't compatible with the AMS.

Consists of four parts for easy of printing, and uses two 608 bearings on the axles.

Attaches to Multiboard tiles using two push-fit pegs.  You can use existing offset snaps used to mount your tiles to the wall or any other snaps.  I prefer to use the [Weight-Bearing Directional Snaps](https://than.gs/m/989145).  The push-fit pegs include small-threaded holes, so you can utilize my [remixed T-bolts ](https://than.gs/m/1052045) to secure the spool roller even more.

**Print Settings**
Use standard Multiboard print settings, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls, and 15% infill.  You can increase the main frame's infill to 30% for extra strength, but not really necessary.  Orient the parts on the print bed as shown in the 2nd photo.

**Main Frame:** Designed to be printed horizontally, like it would hanging from the Mutliboard tile.  It can be printed without supports, but I recommend using supports on the push-fit pegs to guarantee a perfect fit.

**Roller and Axles:** Print oriented vertically, no supports required.

**Assembly**
Insert the axles into the roller.  The tolerances are tight, but they should push-in with a little effort.  Slide the 608 bearings onto each axle, then the roller assembly should fit into the frame.  The bearing should snap lightly into the frame. Again, the tolerances are tight, but if everything is aligned correctly it fits together easily and rolls without resistance.

**UPDATED**
New versions use [Heavy Weight-Bearing Hook Snaps](https://than.gs/m/1130430), which will allow you to install the shelf bracket without removal of the Multiboard tiles.

**Multiboard Filament Spool Rack**
Brackets to use with your Multiboard tiles and wooden dowels/closet rods to store filament spools.

The brackets are designed to fit 1.25" wooden dowels/closet rods that can be found at your local hardware store. I've also included various metric versions as well. Let me know if anyone needs to a different diameter and I will post additional print profiles that fit your needs.

**Mounting to your Multiboard**
Updated the push-connect pegs to the new Bolt-locked pegs.  The new model **IS NOT COMPATABLE** with my [remixed Multiboard T-bolts](https://than.gs/m/1052045). The new method has the advantage that it **does not require removal** of the Multiboard tiles.

**Required Multiboard Parts:**
- (1) Heavy Weight-Bearing Hook Snaps
- (1) Small Thread - Lite Multipoint **(I HIGHLY suggest printing these in PETG)**

    Optional - depending on your setup:
- (1) 13 mm Big Thread, Flat Head, Push-Fit Hole, Bolt (if you are using 8mm offset mounts)

Place the [Heavy Weight-Bearing Hook Snaps](https://than.gs/m/1130430) onto the peg on the top bracket and secure using the [Small Thread - Lite Multipoint](https://than.gs/m/1123321).

For the bottom peg, I used these [13 mm Big Thread, Flat Head, Push-Fit Hole, Bolts](https://than.gs/m/974374) screwed into the Multiboard. Use a spare push peg to help screw it in, if needed.  When screwed in all the way, the bottom of the bolt sits flush against the wall if you are using the 8mm offset mounts, helping to support the bottom of the bracket.  You may also use any other open snap you might already have on your Multiboard setup.

Depending on how many spools you intend to hang from this rack, you may want to reinforce your Multiboard tiles around the brackets with additional wall-mount snaps.  This will reduce the amount of flex on the Multiboard tiles to avoid any potential failures of the system.

**Brackets can be printed using standard Multiboard print settings: 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layers, 15% infill, random seams for strength.** Supports are recommended for the push-fit pegs, but not required.

**The design**
- Rotates smoothly, even under heavy load
- Uses standard base plates and connectors
- Compatible with Gridfinity, Multigrid, and Multiboard plates/tiles
- Mounts securely on Gridfinity using standard 6x2 magnets, Multigrid using mid-thread bolts, or any flat surface using optional suction cups
- Supports mixing and matching systems (spin your Gridfinity bins on a Multigrid plate and vice versa - I literally cannot stop you)

**Mounting options and required fasteners**
- Standalone
    - Optional 0.8 inch suction cups (4)
    - Appropriate screws or bolts depending on your surface
- On a Gridfinity baseplate
    - 6x2 magnets (4)
- On Multigrid baseplate

**For all setups**
- 3-10 8mm steel balls. More is better.
- Spinfinity Bearing Cage. You can optionally skip this if you use 12 8mm balls.

**For a Gridfinity setup**

- Your preferred Gridfinity baseplate (as long as it has the screw/magnet holes)

- 4 M3 screws

**For a Multigrid setup**
- Your preferred base

- Multiboard bolts or clips to attach the bushing to the baseplate. The appropriate hardware will vary depending what you’re putting on your baseplate. The Base Plate Adapter works like a Tile, so you can use Bin Through Plate to Tile bolts and locks if you’re mounting through a bin or Bin to Tile bolts and locks (thin head) if you’re mounting under a bin.

**For a Multiboard setup**
- Your preferred base
- Your preferred Multiboard Tile
- Spinfinity Bushing (Multiboard)
- Spinfinity Multiboard Horizontal Tile Adapter
- Multiboard Brackets if you want to mount additional tiles perpendicular to your base tile

**Notes**
- There is necessarily play in the spinning mechanism. You’ll mostly notice this if whatever you’re spinning is not balanced.
- The Gridfinity adapter mounts using M3 screws. The screw holes are tight, but should self-tap.

**Ideas for the future**
- Additional adapters for central attachment on odd-numbered Multiboards and even-numbered Multigrids (the Gridfinity adapter already supports any combination of even and odd numbered sides)
- Support for alternate bearing ball sizes
- Tight bushing option for less wobble with unbalanced loads
- Option to rest at set positions (e.g., 0, 180)
- Multiboard base (with appropriate bearings for vertical spinning)

I made a multiboard holder for pliers but realized it functions for quite a few other tools.
It prints within the constraints of a single multiboard snap and is oriented ready to print for strength of the part.
