After dealing with a pinched-finger accident at home, I designed Fish or Chip—a compliant print-in-place door guard that automatically protects tiny hands without getting in the way.

✨ Why It Works Automatic Protection: The integrated PLA spring mechanism automatically resets every time the door opens—no manual setting required.

The Safety Buffer: Holds the door at a safe distance from the frame to prevent painful pinches.

Two Mounting Options: Mount with a single screw for a permanent setup or heavy-duty double-sided tape for rental-friendly installation.

"Adult Mode": Easily rotate the fish away from the door frame when safety mode isn’t needed. (Not available for the double-side tape version.)

Universal Compatibility: Fits standard interior doors, hinged doors, and French doors. (Mirror it to adjust the direction for the opening of the door)

Infill: 10 - 15% (Gyroid recommended)

Layer Height: 0.2mm

Supports: Enable for the slot behind the fish for optimal result

Material: PLA, Tough PLA, or PETG (PETG offers excellent long-term spring retention, while PLA provides a firm, snappy action)
