Logical CardLock Case
I have reworked my super-thin locking system into a re-programmable combination lock, which is only 2mm thick. The entire case is printed in place with the tumblers and detent springs printed as compliant components incorporated into the case—the only other parts needed are the numbered dials, the transfer gears and a latch.
My first implementation of it is this gift card case. Mostly meant to be fun and educational, but actually could be useful too. You can give a gift, but not the combination to open it until a later time (like on their birthday).
If you have an AMS, you can print the case with a clear bottom, making it even more unique and educational. And, I have included a few different inserts so you can put a variety of things in it. I am also working on a 4-digit cash-sized version and a document-sized version. Check it out!
I forgot to post here about the updated folding version of my skeleton utility knife. So I am mentioning it now. It is awesome. So much more convenient than my earlier version.
Lastly, I am trying to learn how to get my Discord server up and running so we have a place to chat and discuss designs, print issues, and other related ideas. Please come and join it! But be patient with me, I am still learning how to manage and use it.
