GearBin™ – Mini Mechanized Trash Bin
I am super happy with my design this week, GearBin™, as it has been a long time in the works and it works really well.
GearBin™ is a fully 3D printable mini trash bin with a gear-powered lid and fold-in liner frame. It uses standard dog waste/poop bags as liners. No glue, no screws—just print, snap, and tidy up smarter. Perfect for food scraps, BBQs, and composting.
I chose to use biodegradable dog waste/poop bags for this because they are a fraction of the cost of biodegradable kitchen bags and smaller so you can discard them more frequently at a lower cost. No more stink from the garbage because you waited too many days hoping to fill it up before throwing it away.
And, I made it mechanized basically for fun. It is a great demonstration of 3d printing a mechanical machine that is super practical to use once you have made it.
