March 2024 Recap

March was a busy and eventful month!

I started the month with a personal design challenge of designing a magnet each day, in a pun-derful project I called "March Magnets" not to be confused with the college basketball tournament "March Madness" :)

You may be wondering, "we're a week into April now...isn't March Magnets over?"

Long story short, life threw me some curveballs -- some good, some bad -- and so I've pivoted and extended my March Magnets project into April, hoping to catch up and wrap up.

As I'm typing this, I've published up to day 22 out of the planned 31. Will I finish the remaining 9 this month? We will see!

As this is just a self-imposed project that I took on because of the punny name, I'm letting myself take it easy and not stress (too much) about not meeting the initial goal -- which was perhaps too ambitious to begin with!

I'll celebrate my wins of what I have accomplished, which were NOT in my plans when March began:

  • I stepped out of my comfort zone and took on an opportunity to be a guest on a YouTube live stream -- my first solo guest appearance!
  • I followed my creativity on a fun detour through designing (and redesigning) an Easter version of a classic game which led me to figuring out a nice setup to film vertical videos.
  • With the new setup, I also upped my video production skills and have been releasing short form content (e.g. YouTube shorts) for the projects I worked on in March. This resulted in a surprising number of views and subscribers for my small YouTube channel.
  • I'm also loving how my Thangs profile page is looking now that I have a new banner image, only thanks to my March Magnets project! :)
    • The cover images for the March Magnets models all have a cohesive look too, pulling my page all together :)
    • PRO TIP: I started updating the cover images of my models to indicate whether there are demo videos for you to reference in the model page.

Thanks for reading up on what's going on in my 3D modeling/printing and content creating world!

I'm in need of sellers -- I occasionally get asked about where people can buy my prints. If you can help me spread the word to sellers who may like my style, I'd love to be able to direct potential customers to them and highlight their shops in my content.
