Thanks for the list,

I just downloaded today & it has the on ramp in STL. So that would mean its ok to print from the download?

Just need to fit the 5-15 plate one my ender 3. but people seem to have remixed it in the comments

Looking forward to printing this :D

Off-Ramp seems to be missing anyone?

Why was is this so hard to figure out what to print and how to put it together? Even with the video, he goes through all the steps so darn fast that it's hard to make sense of it all.

i can't fit the 1 x 5-15 Plate on my ender 3 v2, does anyone have smaller sections?

Ronnie b
Melon_wolf

has the tolerances on this been extremely unforgiving for anyone else? im gunna move to the heat-set stuff instead because i cant get any of the integrated threads to work, and all of the tiles that snap together are extremely tight, i cant get them back apart when i snap them together.

M
MaBu

I had the same issue. The printed parts didn't fit. Because I am new to 3d-printing, I tried scaling the models (tiles @97%) and other silly things. Then I read up on flow calibration. So I recalibrated the e-steps on my extruder, printed single wall calibration cubes and adjusted my flowrate and lastly the horizontal expansion after in my slicer. Here is a comprehensive guide I followed parts of: https://the3dprinterbee.com/3d-printer-calibration/ Now everything fits perfectly.

Scott R
scottmroberts79

After I changed my layer height to .12 the threaded parts printed perfectly.

M
moosef

I was able to print the threaded parts, but have to ensure absolutely no support touches them and the threads are aligned with the Z axis to be as clean as possible. The grid seems to be pretty nicely sized and if you are having issues, it might be because you have elephant footing on the first few layers, causing the tolerances to be off?

Nate R
revoman

I scaled the Gutter Foot Mount Integrated to 102%, then careful moved the Universal Foot in and out of the threads a little at a time until it was fully seated. Seemed to work well after that, and it glued to the leg just fine.

Ronnie b
Melon_wolf

yea, ive decided just to do the basic board with heat sets dont have to deal with tolerances then and i just wont snap together tiles that store snapped together lol

Michael P
Michael P

The tolerances for the integrated threads are very tight. I haven't been able to successfully screw them together yet, even using xy compensation in the slicer.

N
NomAnor

Printing the screw hasn't worked for me neither. But all the parts in the basic set should not be a snap fit because they all get glued together.

The 5-15 plate does not fit when flat on a 220mmx220mm standard plate size. Could it be split into two pieces like the 5-7 in size to print flat on smaller printers?

Nick Z
Zammster

I took a shot at making a smaller board because the larger 5-15 doesn't fit on my build plate either. This isn't tested yet, but should work? https://thangs.com/designer/nzambo/3d-model/Hextraction%205-5%20Plate-857242

The problem with changing the size of one thing is, you have to change the size of everything from now on to make them fit.

Thanks, looks like this should work, and require 3x those and 1x 5-7 to equal a board. Edit: I printed one and it nests with the 5-7 so should be good to go!

The main board piece is a tiny bit too big for my build plate. Is there a set number of hexes for a board? I can print the 3 piece sections just fine, how many of them would I need for a full board.

Lucky Patcher APK is a technically impressive but highly controversial tool. While it offers users deep control over their Android environment, it also poses serious legal, ethical, and security risks. For developers and users who respect the app ecosystem, it’s important to weigh these factors carefully before using such tools.

Great! In addition to being able to DIY Hextraction Game Boards, is it possible to print a Wahoo Game Board? I saw a guide on this website that uses woodworking skills to make it. Can it be done with 3D printing? The website is https://www.wahooboardgameplay.com/.

i dont have enough room on my neptune 3 pro should i print at an angle and use supports or make it smaller

D
3dbrody

what filament should i use for this pla+ or petg

Daniel T
taylor.df

As usual, any structural or impact handling part is better in PETG. But the stresses on this board aren't particularly high, PLA+ should work fine. I'd recommend using PETG for the rotators on moving-part tiles, and similar parts that take heavier mechanical load.

T

Which time can be printed in PLA? Which tiles should not be printed in PLA?

I

I printed all mine in PLA+

What glue should be used to build plate?

Ed F

I use gluemasters thick (pink bottle) and it works great. Not sure if its good for petg tho. You can find it on Amazon if you're interested

It would be helpful if the orientation of the parts for some of these was explained. It's not clear the best way to print some of these/whether supports are needed ?

Bobby W
gwaland

https://photos.app.goo.gl/PGx1Wvy4dMBP7KqUA

So for the fancy board here are screenshots of the orientation I printed all the pieces in. There are 3 parts that I needed supports for Gutter On-Ramp.stl Gutter Leg Start.stl Gutter Leg Mount.stl

I was able to print Gutter Leg Mount.stl without supports by standing it up but the bridging it did would make it so the legs were permanently attached due to tolerances. I found the tree supports made for a much better result.

Michael D
dehmlowm

Alright I must be missing it where are the dimensions of the grid?

I
itlexii

Has anybody made board pieces that work for 180x180x180 plates?

P
parsingphase

Has anyone found a good support/orientation combination for the legs? I tried unsupported, lying on their backs; they'll likely work, but they're not pretty prints. Everything else seems to print fine unsupported - the screw threads fit OK at a 0.1mm layer height.

Am I allowed to post these files on the Hextraction Game Entry on Board Game Geek?

It says commercial use allowed on this thangs page, but I'm not sure if that allows me to do this.

Matthew L
elementalbulldog

i found the tiles to need to be pushed in instead of just settling in place with gravity. Am i doing something wrong with print settings? are there print setting suggestions somewhere for this?

Riccardo L
Maca

I find the tolerance between the fancy "Leg Start" and "Gutter Leg Mount" is far too tight, once the pieces slide in it's impossible to separate them

Bernhard P

https://thangs.com/mythangs/file/869089 Here a roughly correct version of the gameboard as single tile. i hope the creator could adress the issues of others. i am really looking forward to play this with the kids.

H

The heat set feet holes are too big to use any M3 inserts I've ever seen. 5.5mm holes. They fit my M4 inserts but the holes on the feet are too small for M4. The foot needs a redesign. That heat set hole should be 4.5mm.

H
hodgeac

I wish Zack would remove the extra uploaded versions of this game board and leave only one up with just the needed parts for basic and a separate one with the needed parts for fancy.

M
mdeepakmishra889

Hello

Bernhard P

Is these some way to get the hands on a SolidWorks export for the game files? My printer is pretty small and i need to partition the game board even more. Solid Works or a "single tile" gameboard export would be cool. If someone is able to provide Tecnical drawings, i could offer to create a SolidWorks Port.

Ryan H
FlexEast

I was in a similar spot, I imported the 5-15 into fusion 360 and divided it up even more. Are you able to fit the 5-7? I did two 5-7's and a custom made 5-6 and two individual tiles. I can send you the stls if you want

Ronnie b
Melon_wolf

Also, what size game board do you guys think would be good for a group of 6 people, i feel the normal size board might be a bit small

James M
boonjabby

Have you found an answer to this? I was thinking of adding another few rows down, keeping the width the same (2 starts)

G
gabbajoe

Hello Zack, can you please let me know what is the difference between this version and the version that you uploaded on May 14, 2023: https://thangs.com/designer/ZackFreedman/3d-model/Hextraction%20Game%20Boards-856519 Also you missed 2 part to export as single stl's see my lists. Any how thank you for this nice game! Cheers, gabbajoe

G
grbrigsted

Not Zack (obviously), but the only difference I can spot is this version has three extra STL files:

  • Gutter Leg Segment 50mm.stl
  • Gutter Leg Segment.stl
  • Basic On-Ramp.stl

Everything else is the same, bit by bit. I ran it through a diff tool, which reported that the two folders were identical (apart from the three missing files).

N
NomAnor

It looks like there are some fillets missing on the inside of the universal end zone. The fillets are not symmetrical.

M N
Guroom

Gutter leg segment 50mm is missing, or is it just me?

G
gabbajoe

if you download all file you will find a ""All Hextraction Hexcessories - Don't Print.step" inside this step file you have the missing pieces. see my listing comment.

Kevin W
kjwrigh4

I noticed this too I think he replaced them with the 12mm version so you could print out 4 of them per leg and it would be 48mm? Not sure where the 50mm version is though.

Knightjoda
knightjoda

Yeah same, the gutter leg start also looks different from the parts shown in the video.

Wout P
wwx

Are there any print orientation or supports instructions? For some of the pieces I'm not super sure how to best orient and support them if needed.

T
tsax6010

I came here looking for the same guidance. Bambu Studio is picking some weird orientations for the fancy parts.

Bill W
Bill Wales

where's the Basic on ramp :(

G
gabbajoe

you can fid it inside the "All Hextraction Hexcessories - Don't Print.step" or look here at the remix that i made with the 2 parts that are missing. https://thangs.com/designer/gabbajoe/3d-model/Remix%20of%20Hextraction%20Game%20Boards-858692?manualModelView=true&source=undefined

N

The basic on-ramp is missing in the files. It shows up in the "all parts" file but there is no separate file for it.

Wout P

I also noticed this.
