For those of you crashing when trying to run this, Go into blender and turn off load UI, it will then load without crashing, not a whole bunch of info on the net about this. I was banging my head trying to figure this out. Hope it helps :D
Tried this, still crashing. Turns out my Linux Software Center had an outdated version of Blender. I grabbed the newest from the Blender website and it ran perfectly.
This seems to be a outdated model. All my other prints and Multiboard downloads have some small slots and uprisings to get more stability when attached to the next tile. But this one doesn't. :-/
I'm having an odd issue. When I generate a 3x3 or 4x12 grids, I have no issue. What I need is a 3x11. For some reason when I slice the 3x11, the entire interior of the grid is solid. The model looks correct before the slice. I do not have this issue with most dimensions. Any thoughts?
Worked absolutely flawlessly for me! This is a great tool and well worth the cost of the subscription. By far the best set of tools for any "system" I have seen.
Hi! Unfortunately on my i9 iMac with 64 GB memory this generator seems unusable, because the newly installed Blender (4.2.1) is processing every steps (e.g. changing the dimensions, or even a single click anywhere) like at least 40-50 seconds. It gets extremely annoying. :(
Is there any settings in Blender which can speed it up? Or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Gy
While I'm no expert, it sounds like you're experiencing a problem that I had recently. It might think you're animating and then if you don't have a keyframe being recorded, everything you do just disappears. Really sucks and it took me a while to figure it out. Good luck!
Just downloaded Blender 4.2.1, launched the generator file. The very first time I exported a file, it worked fine. Ever since, every time I try to export a file, it only comes out as 1 KB and PrusaSlicer won't launch it. I watched the tutorial video as well, but that didn't help much. Any suggestions?
Windows 11, Core i-9, 64 GB RAM, 4TB SSD
are you selecting the multiboard meaning is it outlined in orange? I noticed by default the export selection stays checked but if you do not have the part selected then the file is essentially empty. There should probably be a warning in blender about exporting without any objects selected when the export is set to only export a selection if that makes sense. If this fixes it for you it would be worth opening a bug in the blender github repo. https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender.git
I'm not very familiar with Blender. How do you modify the cutout? The video shows a wireframe around it but my display does not. It's just a void in the tile. No way that I can find to modify it
Make sure that, when you move the duplicated cutaway, you move it to its final location while in edit mode. It's treated as part of the same cutaway, so you can't move the duplicated cutaway object independently. You can go back into Edit Mode, select all the faces (use Shift and select any faces that might have been missed), select the "move" button in the left-vertical options, and drag the x/y arrows to move the duplicate.
Ironing works....painfully. I developed a rapid appreciation of how hard Bamboo PLA-Basic is on my hands when trying to separate just a test 3-stack of 1x2 tile. Wear gloves or figure out the layers trick with PETG!
@FTR88, try this tool on amazon, it makes it much easier. I combine this with a mallet and it breaks right through them quickly to separate it. put the tool all the way through so only the handle is exposed then use the mallet to cut downwards, do this all the way around for a clean cut.
Can't seem to find the settings on CURA slicer (except for the 'ironing' box) to get the stacked parts to split after printing. Can anyone assist? Would really appreciate it! !

This is the way.

This is amazing, thank you for making it! I am having a similar issue to @Factoremist, but with a different size board. When I create a board:
PrusaSlicer says it repaired 328,368 errors.
I've exported lots of shapes and sizes and this is the first STL to have errors.
How do I stack different corner and core pieces? I have only been able to stack the same type of pieces.
This really needs to generate a smooth edge for our tiles.
Hello everyone,

If anyone else has this issue, use an STL repair tool to fix the STL and then try again. For reference, I was using Cura for my slicer.
when i export as an STL and import to bambu, there is a box in the middle
make sure you select the body you want to export then in the export window tick selection only
You have to delete the box in Blender.
When I click the cutaway block I do not get the Transform pop-up to move the block? What should I do?
Click on an edge of the cube and you will be able to access Transform
When I click the cutaway block and change the X Y Z values it's moving a small dot and not the actual block. Anyone know what is going on?
Just installed Blender 4.3.0.0. and when opening the file blender crashes :-(

If you want to have multiple cutouts to chop off various areas of the model to create truly custom shapes, do this:

Just installed Blender 4.2 and It crashes when I try to open the model.
Just installed Blender and the updated model, but its crashing on my Windows 10 PC
The model keeps crashing Blender (4.0.2) on my MacBook Pro.
Turns out it was something in Blender. Downloaded 4.2 and it works fine now :-).
