in addition to the changes below:
Support/object xy distance: 1 mm
Tree Support Branch distance: 4 mm
Used Bambu Lab 'Support for PLA" filament as support interface. (PETG should work as well).
When you bend the plate after printing to release the coaster, it comes off the support clean and easy (see photos). No tool required.
printed on P1S with support settings tree auto distance to Z 0,2255 and ironing set only top surfaces with speed 150 flow 26% and line spacing 0.12
pla magic eSun , sunlu black and esun wood
I highly recommend combining technologies if you have them! I used my xTool p2 to engrave on the cork for even more customization. Eventually when my UV printer comes in I'll be using that, too!
No idea whats going on with my print. I followed one of the instructions in the comments and it still managed to not work. theyre both off of different settings. Any idea whats going on? I dont have multiple feed so im only able to use Matte PLA; not PETG.
Had exactly the same issue. Changed Support settings and used Bambu's "Support for PLA" filament for the interface. After printing, the coaster popped clean off with a perfectly smooth recess. Can't post a screenshot in this reply, text is also limited, so in short:
Support Type: tree(auto) // Style: Tree Slim // Support/raft interface: 'Sup.PLA' // Top Z distance: 0.08 // Bottom Z distance: 0.16 // Top Interface spacing: 0.5 // Support/object xy distance: 1 // branch distance: 4
Im using these settings now in hopes it comes out well enough! I had the same issue with mine. I have the K1Max so I dont have the option to use petg for support.
The cork inserts bulge upwards quite a lot; I specifically bought the ones described in the product description. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I printed it and it comes out great! The only issue is when printing upside-down like you recommend, the insert for the cork coaster is a tiny bit too small. Is there any recommendations for that?
On my AD5X the recess area is just a tiny bit smaller than the cork but it still fits. I put a bit of hide glue under the cork to keep it from going convex. The cork does not sit flush like the pictures show, but is raised about a third of the cork thickness. The recessed area is not 3.5mm deep.
I've done a couple of test prints, one for the full coaster and 1 for just the feet inserts, and everything fits but the rubber feet. I've measured the recess with callipers and they're only 5.8mm, so my 6mm rubber feet don't fit. I'm fairly new to the 3d printing game, but will be nozzle size have anything to do with it? Currently have a 0.6 nozzle on, would using a 0.4 nozzle be better? HELP please!
I printed three coasters with cork-insert, everytime with different settings (even in comments recommended ones), but i just cant, for the love of god, get the support-structure out... this model is unprintable if you use pla as main material AND support..
I’m not sure what’s going wrong here. I’m using the “Coaster for Cork Insert” model, but when I try to remove the center piece, it doesn’t come out cleanly like the images shared by carmaster65 in another review. Any idea what I might be doing wrong and how to fix it?
If you have an AMS or multi material unit of some kind, I highly suggest using PETG as a support interface. PETG doesn't adhere to PLA so the supports come out much cleaner.
Any particular tricks for removing the supports on the one with the coaster insert? I printed on a Bambu X1C with default settings, the cork recess spot printed on the underside, but my prints looks like cperryman21's pics. I used PLA for the main material and PETG for the support material. Looks like I might have to carve out the top with a hobby knife?
Ultimately got the hang of it, just had to get a real thin knife in the gap and work it all the way around and use a little more force than expected! Turned out great in the end!
Use the support settings I gave to @cperryman21 above, and you won't need a single tool at all. Using Bambu's designated support filament, the coaster just pops off the support without any effort. Maybe PETG works just the same, but since I have a lot of support filament lying around, I haven't been bothered to try - yet. ;-)
Hi I have printed three sets now, all printing okay except for where the bottle opener goes, this is printing out all strings and looks very messy, any suggestions please.
Hey! There are two coasters in the .3mf. The one on the first plate labeled "Coaster for Cork Insert" has the space for the cork insert. It prints upside down so the recess is on the underside. Supports are needed for the cork insert spot.
The flat part is meant to be removed as it is only there for support. If you're a member of my discord, I posted a video here of how I remove the supports.
There's also a chance you've made a completely different (yet quite common) mistake, and yes, it still happens to me as well: Make sure to slice the right build plate.
Sometimes, instead of the proper build plate, I select the object to be printed instead. If you accidentally selected the build plate of the 'Coaster without insert' and then selected the object 'Coaster with cork insert' instead of its plate, the slicer would still print the wrong one.

Can confirm I used these settings to great effect on a Bambu A1 Mini.
Let the coaster cool a little after printing and when you remove it from the print bed it will come away cleanly from the supports

Print everything scaled at +1-2%

I have followed the recommendations, and this file still has yet to print correctly. Could you update the file so we don't have to make any changes?

Are you able to rework this so it fits a standard 4” coaster? Other than that, it printed perfectly! Wife loves it!
Change seam location, random would probably work best, might need a little post processing to smooth after
Is there any way we can get the coaster holder for six items that supports the cork inserts?

Hi. Would you happen to have this file in .stl format? If so what is the cost for that file?
I am paying someone to print this but they cannot print a .3mf. They can only print .stl.
Thanks.

I'm having this issue too. The support structure is a pain to get out. If anyone else have suggestion, please share it.
When i slice the model it shows its empty on the inside???? can you please help.

At that rate I would recommend using a different support type. My supports came out pretty good when I printed it upside-down, but I used an Ender 3.

Great to hear! I bought a cheap set of dental tools on Amazon for like $10. Very useful for removing supports.

I have one!
I had this same problem. Printing upside-down like the description suggested helped a lot.
I agree, I don't have the spacer either. No spot to put the cork.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I print the one with the cork insert and there is no way to insert a cork. It is flat.

Hi there! In my slicer, it doesnt look like the space for the cork coaster is there?
