Very cute, I look forward to additions to the gooses outfits. Printed on Snap Maker U1 - PLA 10% infill. I should have slightly up sized the umbrella hat. The silk PLA shrunk and it's not a perfect fit.
Thanks. I should have went with a lighter brown, and even though I reduced the purge values alot, hoping for a "dirty" white for the belly, it wasn't reduced enough for that.
I'm hoping that labeling these in different sizes as "laptop goose" and "table goose" picks up on the porch goose trend. Looking for something outside the normal dragons and fidgets. Gnomes sell, but it'll be like one market everyone is buying gnomes and the next everyone is in love with them but not buying.
Porch Goose twins for myself and one of my teacher friends. I didn’t do the regular feet, as the newest shoes had me hooked on making those.
I made the geese at 125% for the size, making them 7.5 inches from the top of their head to the bottom of their bellies.
i just had to reach out and tell you how much I absolutely love your designs! My daughter is the president of our local high school soccer booster club, and she got one of your desk geese for game days. She also works as a receptionist at a major company in our small community, and everyone there is raving about it it’s been such a huge hit on her desk! I was wondering if you have any plans to create sports-themed designs, like football, softball, soccer maybe clip on wings to hold a prop?
She is printed at the file size and I love her so much!!
I struggled a little with the supports, because they were tougher to remove. I adjusted in Bambu Studio and then it left too much of a mark upon support removal. I will keep tweaking them though. I will print many more of these for sure!! 5🪿🪿🪿🪿🪿 😁
So pretty!!!!!! A trick for thick tree supports is to squeeze them below where they attach. That helps them break free better than pulling like small tree supports.
Thank you! I am a perfectionist and mainly don't like the marks left under the beak after the supports come off. But I know it's a trade off to either have easier to remove supports or a better looking finish.
Ya, that is one of the reasons we usually don't do models with supports, but the geese need them. A lot of it is settings, but also the printer itself. Our H2C comes out much cleaner than our S1, and our A1s are somewhere in the middle.
Have you considered making the beak a separate piece that you can pop on? I think it could eliminate the need for so many supports and people without a multi-color printer could print them :)
Just love this! I do have a question though! Anyone use an AD5X Flashforge. I am getting lines on the head. It looks like it is printing the colors on the infill. I shut all the infill options off, but it's still showing a band and the Nostril holes are showing a much larger triangle under the orange. Any thoughts or help would be great!
I have a Creality K2 Plus and have this issue as well... I am still learning flushing and such, but I'd love to just be able to print this is parts and click it together... I have wasted a lot of filament to be disappointed in my finished product. I have been printing them super small, about 4-6" to try to figure out my settings and still get lines from the beak and around the eyes, but somehow not the nostrils anymore... all a learning curve.
Hi!
That looks like you need to increase the flushing volume from black to the other colors. If you're using Orca it is a weird green oval-ish button to the right of "Filament" and to the left of the + & - for adding more spool colors. Click on that an you can either increase the overall ratio/multiplier at the bottom or on the chart increase numbers from black to orange and from black to white. Different filaments and printers will need different flushing volumes, you may need to experiment.
I'm using a P1S and I've printed the goose at both 70% and 100%, increasing my flushing volume to a ridiculous 970 from black to white and still have lines. :-( I can't figure it out, but I'm going to keep searching online because it IS a really adorable goose otherwise!
I'm so confused and frustrated! I want to scale this down to make a Desk Goose, approx 7" tall. I got the goose and feet but I don't know how to figure out the accessories. I normally scale using the percentage but the goose and each of the accessories all have different percentages as their full size. How do I figure out the percentages that I need for each accessory?
Hi Karen. Percentages aren't as accurate across files since slicers reset them to 100%.The best way is to make note of the height of the goose you sized down in mm. Now bring a default sized goose into the accessory file, select the goose and the accessories, set the Z height to the same as the goose you sized down. Now the accessories will be scaled to your smaller goose and you can delete the duplicate goose in the accessory file. We also have a video here: https://youtu.be/GvR-VG99qp0
I printed this with my Bambu p2s and for some reason the beck is off center, I did notice also that it slipped on the support, what could have happened?
Oh man I thought this would be easier. I’m fairly new to 3D printing but have made a ton of items from Bambu studio files on my P2S and A1mini, just by slicing and printing. No issues.
I got the goose into Bambu studio, followed the video got it down to the 150 size. Now there’s a pop up about supports? Should I add those, which I have to google. Also how do you scale the accessories separately to fit the 150 sized goose without the goose being in the file every time?
The supports should be painted on the goose's chin already. If not you'll need to turn on Tree manual supports and add them. We're adding pics with how we have the supports painted, but that a guide as it could be different for different printers. You can always email us design@funfam3d.com and we'll try out best to help!
Am i doing something wrong? Or is it normal for a scale of 150 to still take 10+ hours to print using all your settings? Sorry, im still newish to all of this!
I love this print!! I only had a problem with some banding around his head from the black in the beak and eyes. I'm going to work on my settings or just change it all to orange on the bill and white on the eyes and paint it when it's done. But I am new to 3d printing so I am just learning how to change up settings. So glad I got this membership!!
I shank it down to 9" total... unfortunately I snapped the feet off into the body... may have to shrink them down just a smidgen more. But overall a super cute, fun design. I'll get better!
Absolutely love this goose! Was I meant to size down the legs? I was unable to get them in and broke them in the process - which, if I hadn't, I never would have been able to remove them again to swap accessories. I printed with identical settings and the same filament as the body.
Am I dreaming or did I see a bunch of new accessories somewhere? I am getting ready for a show and don't necessarily want to print all the accessories, would it be OK to have pictures for people to look at? Thanks!
Hi! Yes, if you follow our video in the listing or you can find the video here: https://youtu.be/GvR-VG99qp0 and scale everything down until the body's Z-height is 150mm that is 7in. You can email us design@funfam3d.com if you need help too!
I have a question. I see in your description that PLA is used. Isn't there a temperature issue when it is outside? I love this file and can't wait to print one.
Thank you!
We haven't had an issue yet in Texas with temperature, just sun bleaching. Lots of people print them in PET-G which is better for both temp & UV.
If you email us design@funfam3d.com we can try to help.
We have heard of some issues with Bambu's striking the tower on color changes with tall prints.
Hello - First I want to say these are adorable! I need some help. I followed the instructions for making it smaller, and the legs don't fit. I now have two babies with no legs! I tried to print just the legs with boots, scaling them and the white part fits but the position is off. When I print them all together they don't fit either, do big to fit in the holes. Any ideas?
Do you have the scaled down version that’s in your pictures? I can’t get my goose to work properly but I love the size that you all have done. Please tell me you have it and accessories available. 😁
That is the regular goose body with a Z-height scaled to 150mm. If you select the goose body, the feet, accessories, and set the Z-height to 150mm it'll work. If you go smaller than that the legs can get tight.
Ok, then yes. Part out the object and select the post parts and set them to 4 walls. Also check the Z seams on the posts and the goose and make sure they aren't in the same place. That can interfere with the tollerances.
The full sized goose only weighs about 3lbs, so it could get blown over in windy conditions. I'm not where you'd be able to put enough weight to hold it down by adding hollows that would print over washers or weights.
I absolutely love your porch goose model and have one proudly displayed on my desk! I was wondering if you would be open to some accessory suggestions? I have a regular concrete porch goose on my porch that has several hairstyles made from yarn that it can wear. Would it be possible to make something similar for your goose model? You could make hair shaped "hats". For example, a hairstyle that is up in rollers that would go well with slippers. Maybe one with braids. Stuff like that.
just had to reach out and tell you how much I absolutely love your designs! My daughter is the president of our local high school soccer booster club, and she got one of your desk geese for game days. She also works as a receptionist at a major company in our small community, and everyone there is raving about it—it’s been such a huge hit on her desk!
I was wondering if you have any plans to create sports-themed designs, like football, softball, or more soccer options.
Hi, I am new here. I have a Prusa xl and when I bring in the goose 3mf it is brought in so it has to be on two plates and broken up so you lose the 3mf goodness. is there a way to adjust the boundaries of the 3mf file ( the xl plate is big enough to fit the print).
thanks
The .3mf has the goose in 2 different object, so you should be able to just drag the second part onto the 1st plate. You may need to select Prusa XL in the printer selection if the .3mf defaults to a different printer.
I was about 20 hours into this print on a P2S with good bed adhesion and the prime tower fell over wasting the time and filament involved. What settings do you recommend changing in order for the prime tower to adhere better? There was a brim on it, but it obviously didn't hold. Also, do you offer a separated print that we could print and assemble? It would certainly help on the amount of waste.
We recommend for tall prints to increase the Pirme/purge tower's brim to 10-15mm as well as turning off rib walls on the tower. Also, if you move the tower closer and increase the tower's and model's brim until both touch that will help out a lot.
No such luck. Even widened the brim and moved it closer so it overlapped the brim of the goose. This is the first print that I've not been able to complete on the P2S. Basically a whole roll of white filament wasted. Frustrated because my wife was hoping to be able to accessorize with your different feet and hats. :(
So sorry your prime tower isn't cooperating! Is your prime tower in a hot spot? When you choose P2S in the slicer is it moving the prime tower to a weird spot, or one that the head needs to cross over repeatedly?
I have 2 3D printers and I would like to download some to my Bambu but everything I download goes to the Creality printer is there a way to download to different printers?
Is the computer automatically associating the .3mf file with the creality slicer? If so you can right click on the file and choose "open with -Bambu Studio". Also you can right click and go to properties then choose "always open with -Bambu Studio". If you need more help you can email design@funfam3d.com. :)
You can email us desing@funfam3d.com an we may be able to help. Double check your slicer. I've seen Bambu studio do some weird things when converting the file to an H2 printer.
Hi! I want to rescale to a smaller size. I saw where the parts need to be all selected and then scale together, but how do I get the colored goose plate in with the accessories plates to scale everything together? When I try to import it in with the accessories plates, it will only let me bring in the uncolored goose.
For scaling purposes it only needs to be the default size goose and then you scale it's Z-height down to match the one you already scaled. The goose you use for sizing you'll delete anyway so it doesn't need to be full color. You can also try bringing the accessories into the goose and see if that works. As long as you're importing the .3mf file the colors should stay.
Hello, I am having issues with scaling it down. I have a flashforge ad5x. It is too big for the plate. I tried scaling it down to 175. I scaled the duck and feet together. The feet will not line up with the holes. Please help. I am wasting filament. I changed the x on the duck and feet to 175. Am I suppose to change the Y and Z to 175? I am new to this.
Hi Donnah, make sure you select them all and change them together. Using the Z-height of the goose is the best way since it's constant and won't be higher than the accessories. We added a video the listings to help.
Did you have any luck Donna! I followed the video and have been successful printing on my AD5X. My only issue I'm getting bleed through where the colors were.
Hello, I am printing the goose on a P2S with AMS, is there a way to separate the beak and eyes to print as parts so I can do 4 plates, 1 white, 1 black,, 1 blue and 1 orange and then assemble?
I've had two failed prints on my P2S. Get to about 7 hours left and the prime tower falls over. Let me know if you get a successful print. I'd love to see your settings. I even increased the brim to overlap the brim on the goose for adhesion but both have failed and wasted a lot of filament.
I just finished my first one and the legs went it with a lot of effort, but non won't come out to change up her shoes :( What would you recommend we scale down to for the legs?
i have the same problem. I'm planning to email. I've done 10 prints, followed the scaling directions and tried to scale and print different sizes and not one of them will get the legs to fit. I don't want to print all the accessories if I can't figure out the legs.
I love this goose, and this is the first thing I am trying to print that is on the app. When it uploads into Bambu I am getting all types of errors. It's only allowing me to select one color. Is the goose one color? If someone could help me that would be great.
What printer are you slicing the goose for, and do you have an AMS? The goose is 4 colors and the .3mf comes pre-painted. Also, what errors are you getting?
Hi - Bambu PS1 with AMS and H2C with AMS. I am getting a g-code error, won't fit the plate and tower is too close with collide. I finally got the correct file with the colors, but I don't know how to fix the other items. Do I need to reduce the size?
I would start by moving the goose and/or prime tower to make sure everything is fitting on the plate. Since both of those are core x/y printers you can probably decrease the initial layer on the supports and the brim on the prime tower. We increased both of those for compatibility with bed slingers.
i am brand new to 3d print but i want to print this goose so bad but i need a little help. I have a Ender 3 printer and when i put the goose in the cura slicer it shows the gooses head to be above the build line just a little bit. I am not sure what i need to do to fix this issue. I don't know how to resize the designs yet.
In Cura there should be a scale tool at the top left second one down. Make sure the goose, the feet, and any accessories you want to print are all selected then you can type in a size, percentage, or drag the model to make it smaller. There are 3 "handles" blue, green, and red. Each one is either X, Y, or Z. Hope this helps!
All of the Accessories we upload are set up to fit the goose we uploaded @ 249.09mm tall. The model is scalable as long as you scale everything together if you want to go smaller/larger.
Where's the other feet - searched and went through all yours on Thangs - are they someplace else? Already purchased and getting ready to print - boss wants different feet form Facebook.
Hello. The % you print at is up to you as long as you size the legs and body together. The PLA melting depends on the PLA you use and how hot it is. We live in a part of Texas where summers can be over 110F (~43C) and haven't had anything melt outside yet. The one we printed is about 300mm tall.

That looks great!
Could you separate the beak and eye for a faster print?
Could you please separate the beak an the eyes? I absolutely love this goose but sadly i do not have a ams color change printer.
Wow! Love it! Great job!
Thanks. I should have went with a lighter brown, and even though I reduced the purge values alot, hoping for a "dirty" white for the belly, it wasn't reduced enough for that. and only nitpick, that's a duck bill instead of a goose beak.
Too cute!
any plans to add camping accessories - hat and feet to the collection? Love these!!
That's a great idea! Susan was talking about that, but I'm not sure how far along they are.

is there anyway to get one where you dont need a ams, eyes, beak and feet separate that would be wonderful.
We've talked about it. Right now we're working on getting caught up on all the models.
Do you have the dimensions you used?
I whish I was at the beach too!
Have you considered making the beak a separate piece that you can pop on? I think it could eliminate the need for so many supports and people without a multi-color printer could print them :)

That is mostly up to you. We do ~150mm on the goose's body. Smaller than that and the legs can get too tight.
Am i doing something wrong? Or is it normal for a scale of 150 to still take 10+ hours to print using all your settings? Sorry, im still newish to all of this!
That's possible. You can always adjust the settings for your printer. :)

Baseball and Softball are out now. Football is next then golf and soccer. Thank you!

I'm having issues with my tower falling over 80% of the way complete. It's done this twice. Any suggestions?

“Hi! What printer settings are you using to make the foot posts stronger? Mine snapped when I tried inserting them into the base of the goose.”
We do 4 walls on the leg posts. Are you printing from the .3mf or .stl? Also, you can email us design@funfam3d.com if you need help.
.stl file
Ok, then yes. Part out the object and select the post parts and set them to 4 walls. Also check the Z seams on the posts and the goose and make sure they aren't in the same place. That can interfere with the tollerances.
Thanks for your help I was able to print the feet, and it looks good
That's great to hear!
I have a lot of people asking me if the larger print will fall over in weather conditions? Does anybody have that problem or have a solution?
The full sized goose only weighs about 3lbs, so it could get blown over in windy conditions. I'm not where you'd be able to put enough weight to hold it down by adding hollows that would print over washers or weights.

The wigs are coming out this month... I think pretty soon.
Hi, do you have any garden type of accessories for the goose?
We have a few gardening hats out.

I had this same problem. It was recommended to spray the plate with hairspray and it worked perfectly! I had so many towers fall over but not anymore.

Nope. Its on the far right side like it typically is.
Can you email design@funfam3d.com so we can send screenshots? That is definitely weird that the prime tower would be failing repeatedly like that.

We added a video the listings to help.
where can I find the video?
Did you have any luck Donna! I followed the video and have been successful printing on my AD5X. My only issue I'm getting bleed through where the colors were.
It should be in with the images if you view it on the website. We also put informative videos on our YouTube here: https://youtube.com/shorts/GvR-VG99qp0?feature=shared
Hello, I am printing the goose on a P2S with AMS, is there a way to separate the beak and eyes to print as parts so I can do 4 plates, 1 white, 1 black,, 1 blue and 1 orange and then assemble?
No sorry, the top of the goose is all one part.
I've had two failed prints on my P2S. Get to about 7 hours left and the prime tower falls over. Let me know if you get a successful print. I'd love to see your settings. I even increased the brim to overlap the brim on the goose for adhesion but both have failed and wasted a lot of filament.
I cant get the legs all the way in
I ended up sanding the legs down a little. Works like a charm. I have not been able to print them so they just slide in and out easily.
Did you scale them? The legs shouldn't be as tight as the hats.
I just finished my first one and the legs went it with a lot of effort, but non won't come out to change up her shoes :( What would you recommend we scale down to for the legs?
You can email design@funfam3d.com and we'll see if we can help out! The default sized legs should just slide in.
I sent you an email :)
i have the same problem. I'm planning to email. I've done 10 prints, followed the scaling directions and tried to scale and print different sizes and not one of them will get the legs to fit. I don't want to print all the accessories if I can't figure out the legs.
How long does this project take to make?
At the default settings a 4 color goose with 2 color feet takes about 37hrs. Depending on your printer it could be faster.
Yes thank you so much i can't wait to get it printed
Do the models scale equally across the different feet and goose?
All of the Accessories we upload are set up to fit the goose we uploaded @ 249.09mm tall. The model is scalable as long as you scale everything together if you want to go smaller/larger.
The Goose brought me here, just joined your patron and looking forward to styling my goose. Fantastic design thank you :).
Thank you for the kind words, and your support!
Where's the other feet - searched and went through all yours on Thangs - are they someplace else? Already purchased and getting ready to print - boss wants different feet form Facebook.
They feet are going to start dropping tonight! We had some last minute feet/hat designs to slice and print.
would love additional dress clothes
There are shoes and hats coming soon!
Is the porch goose printed at 100%? Will the PLA melt if it is left outside? How tall is the porch goose?
Hello. The % you print at is up to you as long as you size the legs and body together. The PLA melting depends on the PLA you use and how hot it is. We live in a part of Texas where summers can be over 110F (~43C) and haven't had anything melt outside yet. The one we printed is about 300mm tall.
Can you please make a School Bus for the goose to sit in? I am a school bus driver, and this would be AMAZING.
