Thanks so much for the reply—really appreciate you sharing your workflow! I noticed you said “we” use different kinds of software depending on the task. Just curious—who’s part of the “we”? Do you collaborate with other designers or have a team behind ForgeCore? I really love your modular style and would be super interested to learn more about how you all work together.
The description above says, 3/8" x 1/2" Magnets," but the linked Amazon product page doesn't offer that exact size. Before I buy anything, I wanted to check whether it's just that the product changed what they sold (and I should therefore search for those dimensions in another magnet brand) or whether the measurements in your Components Needed section had a typo. I'm looking forward to making this tree, as your designs are always fun!
Hi there, your designs are awesome. I do need a bit of help please - the magnets in South Africa are measured in mm and not inch, so I bought the 10mm magnets but they are just to big for the holes (which are 9.25mm). So when I push our magnets in the branches crack since they are just too big. Can you perhaps assist me and make the holes 10mm and resend me the file? Thanx so much
Hi there, thank you so much for the kind words and support; it really means a lot! At the moment, the model is only designed for the original magnet size that I have linked in the description and I don’t currently have alternate versions fitted for different measurements. I totally understand how that can be tricky with the metric vs. inch sizing, and I’ll keep the idea in mind for possible future updates.
I know that can be frustrating. Right now, this file only fits the current magnet size, though we may explore other options down the road. Some makers outside the U.S. have been able to find the same magnets on Amazon or similar sites, so that may be worth a try.
It's a pity that I can't buy this kind of magnet. It is recommended to use magnets in millimeters.
Could we design a 10mmx6mm version? In this way, when two magnets are attached together, it becomes 10mmx12mm, which is extremely similar to the previous 3/8" x 1/2" version.
You can try to use any magnets you prefer that fit in the holes. These are the strogest ones we have found so far that work how we want them to and like them.
It doesn't sound like you're missing anything. Can you go into more detail of how you have everything assembled? Have you used glue or any adhesive anywhere that could cause the sticking of the gears?
How many magnets will we need? I'm away from my computer so I can't download it but want to order the magnets so I can finish it as quickly at possible!

Looks great!!
thank you so much for sharing! it looks great!
What designer app do you use? (Just wondering)
We use a combination of different software in all of our designs; It really just depends on what needs done to which part, ect.

Thanks again for the inspiration!👍
I actually have a post that shows you who 'we' are if you'd like to read it. https://than.gs/p/249034
The bonsai is really cool but the pot design on this one is genius!!! Please design other things to use this same pot.
Thank you for the feedback! I'm so glad you like it!
What size magnets is this using?
Just updated the description to include them! Sorry about that. They're the same magnets as the magnetic mushrooms

Hi, Sorry about that. That link must have sold out. Here is a new link. The size you need is 3/8" x 1/2"

Thank you, that is a pity since I then can't use the file or any other files with magnets that are just as awesome...

the magnets you have linked are long cylindrical magnets. dont we just need the small magnets which will fit into the tree branch?
The ones linked are the ones I used and have designed the holes for. Their pictures are a bit deceiving but they are the correct size.

For some reason every time I line up the top pot with the axels, the drawers don't want to open, am I missing something?
It doesn't sound like you're missing anything. Can you go into more detail of how you have everything assembled? Have you used glue or any adhesive anywhere that could cause the sticking of the gears?
I Did! I got a little carried away and glued the rocks to the top pot. Oops My bad! Thank you for the reply.
That would definitely cause it. The rocks need to be able to move freely to turn the drawers to open

It uses 7 of the magnets I have linked in the description.
Did you use any supports? The 3mf has them set for manual but nothing is painted on. Thanks!
Yes it should have supports under the one arm of the tree. It looks like I didn't save that properly! So sorry about that, I just corrected it
Where did you get those little rocks? I love the design!
Thank you! The little rocks are 3D printed and part of the design when you download it!
Oh that’s so cool! I didn’t even see that. Thanks!!
