These are so fun! My son gets a kick out of playing with them on the wall too! I used the 3mf file and Bambu PLA. I also used different colors for the flowers so each person can have their own for their keys.

super sorry to bring back up an old thread, but love the ginkgo leaf keychain print! would you be okay with sharing where you found the print file for it?

No worries at all! I actually designed that myself and I don’t have it shared anywhere 😅

Does the mechanism pull out on both sizes fully?

MICHAEL P
mpuissant98

Yes. I believe I have it set up like the. I am supposed to put the parts in with the sliding parts all the way closed, correct?

MICHAEL P

I honestly have no idea what I did. But somehow it works perfectly fine now lmao

I'm glad you got it working! My next question was going to be did you push it into the pot until you hear a click but I am so glad it works for you now!

Hi everyone, I’m having repeated issues with my prints not completing properly — they often detach from the build plate partway through and create a tangled mess of filament (photo attached). What I’ve already tried: Adjusted model position on the build plate Tried different build plates (textured, cool, etc.) Ensured the plate was clean and leveled Used different materials (PLA and PETG) Despite all this, the print keeps lifting off from the plate after a few layers and ruins the entire job. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be related to first layer calibration, cooling, or slicing settings? Any advice on what else I should check? Photo of the issue attached. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I’m having repeated issues with my prints not completing properly — they often detach from the build plate partway through and create a tangled mess of filament (photo attached).

What I’ve already tried:

Adjusted model position on the build plate
Tried different build plates (textured, cool, etc.)
Ensured the plate was clean and leveled
Used different materials (PLA and PETG)

Despite all this, the print keeps lifting off from the plate after a few layers and ruins the entire job.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Could it be related to first layer calibration, cooling, or slicing settings? Any advice on what else I should check?

Hi, I'm sorry you are having so many issues. I'd love to help fix them! My first suggestions would be washing your build plate with dish soap and warm water. Sometimes switch to a PEI plate and adding glue can greatly increase plate adhesion or PLA too, in my experience. You may also need to increase the plate temp. I suggest keeping the temp 55°-65° for most pla. You can also join our discord for faster help!

I am unable to get it to work. I have printed the mechanism 3 separate times and every time it has issues pulling down. Even after I put the battery in the case it wont go back to its original position either. I tried putting WD40 on the second print I did and it didn't help. I am unsure what else to do

It looks like the mechanism isnt seated fully into the slot. Do you hear an audible click, when you push it into the pot?

W
Willbill

Yeah, I pushed it in and heard an audible click. Even after doing so it isnt extending when I put keys on it. I appreciate the fast reply!

It could be that the filament expanded too much during printing causing the tolerences to fill up and make the mechanism not work properly. But I can't be sure without more pictures. We could help a bit more in our Discord Channel if you'd like to join. We can help a lot more affectively there and go into a lot more detail

how do you put the cacti key parts together?

Colby G
ForgeCore

You can find the assembly instructions on the helpful instructions PDF

i dont know why but the mechanism wont work i even added wd40

Colby G
ForgeCore

Be sure that your parts all printed flat. Slight warping can have an effect on the success of the build.

is it possible to make the pot smaller? or add a bigger magnet? my keys are too heavy for these little ones.

Colby G
ForgeCore

The hook version is designed for larger keys!

K

As always, fantastic ideas! :) Thank you for sharing this! Is there a way to have two hooks?

Colby G
ForgeCore

We wont have a two hook version of the single cactus. BUT there is another cactus you can mount next to this one to get two hooks! Check out Spikeys

On the easy print file it tells me the following after slicing: It seems object Pot.stl_1 has floating regions. Please re-orient the object or enable support generation.

Colby G
ForgeCore

I am not seeing that warning when I slice it but it should print without supports.

Has anyone found a good replacement for AA batteries? I don't have any lying around

Please help me what am i doing wrong. Printed everything and it looks perfect except the flower part keeps failing. Trying for 2 days straight stoped counting how meany times. Tryed changing nozzel playing with the layer thickness. Nozzel temp, bwd temp. PLA 5 different brands and colors PETG 2 brands. Still wont print right.

I had failing flower parts as well, But in Bambu Lab I ended up placing "Brim Ears" where ever the petals touch the build plate and on the centre part as well. (3 on each petal tips and 1 on each centre joint section) This works perfectly and the flowers come out flawlessly! the Brim Ears are easy to remove! Give that a try :) . By the way Forgecore I love this model (and all the others too!) 💕

Colby G

Hi, how long ago did you download the model? We just made a change to make the flower much easier to print in the last week so it should be better now

Jerrich N
jerrichgame

Thank you so mouch i will try that. 😊

Reginald H

can i print this on an a1 mini

Colby G
ForgeCore

Yes, you can print this design on an A1 Mini

Having issues printing the flower as well. Clean plate, glue, tried 3x different filaments, tried supports, slowed the printer down, still can't get it to finish.

Colby G
ForgeCore

Re-download. The flower has been updated and should print much easier now!

Hey, would you by any chance have the link to buy the optional hook? Thanks

Colby G
ForgeCore

The hook is in the stl with titled Mechanism. No need to buy it. It super glues into the bottom of the linear gear you would normally put the magnets in.

Z
zpvhjygn6b

Ohh that makes so much sense thank you!

Has there been any updates to this one regarding the mechanism parts? A lot of my pieces weren’t long enough to be screwed on or wouldn’t fit. Thanks

Colby G
ForgeCore

HI! Can you elaborate on what part wasn't fitting?

Make sure to check out the Helpful Instructions PDF for assembly instructions.

But if you have any trouble getting it together let me know and i can help, just need some info on what exactly you need help with!

E

Thank you for your updates. I am not able to push the axle through the gear (step 2) and my axle will be too short also. Printed on a P1P using the the easy print files.

E

Nevermind. A fresh set of eyes was able to complete the assembly. One problem was that I didn't have the bearing pushed in far enough.
