The colors are made by using converted png files. So unfortunately with the limited space on the screen, its not possible to add more colors to one Deskimon file.
Super fun. Hopefully as people have said the software just keep evolving, change the eye color, clock in AM/PM not just 24:00 time.
Made with an Ankermake M5
@creativeChance, Hello, I recently purchased the Neo model. I only use it with the battery and USB charging. However, because of that, there is a hole in the backpack that I find unattractive. Would it be possible to have a version of this backpack without the hole?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
does any body know whats wrong when the esp dont charge battery. i have bought 3ex of the batterys that is written in the manual and non of them charges. I have also tried diffrent ESP
@CreativeChance is there any way to change the color of the eyes ? Or that is embedded in code. I see there is different color for each deskimon but I have only purchased the Neo variant, and I believe by default comes with yellow eyes. Do not have access to the Orbit or Sprout firmware.
Hi I am from South Africa and this is the only screen I can get in our country will this work and also what do I need to do to get this to work.
Smart Round ESP32-S3 Touch LCD β 1.28 inch
This screen would be too small for the housing, and the software is written specifically for the 1.75 inch model. Does waveshare themselves not ship to your country?
There are, there's been some major updates in the works, but it's taking time.
For now enjoy the current setup, I can't promise anymore updates soon, but I am working on it.
I downloaded the templates, all very nice, I wanted to know if there will be an update of the functions... it would be nice to have a weather alarm and wifi capability....
For now re-downloading the zip file from Thangs a couple of times should work. Eventually the correct 'Neo-Deskimon' zip file with all the needed files and instructions will be there.
Thanks for letting me know. Thangs is being very glitchy at the moment. It got removed and when adding it back it doesn't show up correctly. I'm looking into it now, at the mean time you can send me an email at creativechance.business@gmail.com
Yes the colors are made by using converted png files. So unfortunately with the limited space on the screen, its not possible to add more colors to one Deskimon file.
It shouldn't need to be glued, but if it detaches you could use a bit of glue, I just wouldn't use something too strong if you haver want to take the screen or battery out.

Well i notice that some of the other ones have different color eyes. Is there way you could post all the different deskimon files with their eye colors?
I can't get the screen to turn on. When shaking it makes the noises, but nothing shows on the screen (I have 2, and the same for both). The 0x addresses match up according to the documentation. Did the erase then program. Any idea what the issue could be, please?
I have never heard this before, normally if the screen doesn't turn on after flashing, it's because the battery is connected and the power button needs to be held for at least 6 seconds to turn it off. But nothing on the screen while the program runs (shaking makes a noise) should not happen. The only thing I can think of then are faulty screens or the wrong screen model.
Have been looking forward to putting this together for a while and now that all the parts have arrived I've run into two issues.
I did get hold of the battery that was specfied in the documentation, but unfortunately it didn't identify that there are different types of power connector and whilst I have the correct model of battery it can't connect to the board. Please can you update the documentation to be clearer for others so that they don't miss this important information?
I'm definitely doing something wrong. I can plug it in and the screen turns on, but if I plug it in while the boot button is pushed nothing happens and no USB shows up when I click Connect.
I tried a different cable and followed the steps and after that it won't turn on. I've never done anything with electronics before so I'm sure it's my mistake but if anyone has any suggestions that would be really appreciated
Its probably just because it needs to be reset, but right now it's on with the battery connected, you should hold the power for at least 6 seconds to turn it off, then you can turn it back on. Try doing the steps from scratch, just using a usb C cable ad no battery.
Love this project! Got everything printed and working, thank you!. Some general comments / questions.
The LCD panel mounting inside the head was a bit finicky, there is nothing to really hold it in place, it just sits on to of those three pegs and easily shifts around. Am I doing something wrong?
The buttons don't properly align to the buttons on the board. It's not a show stopper as they aren't used, but just seems like it would be easier to leave them out.
I just used a few I had around teh house, they all seemed to work fine, as long as it's not abnormally big or small. Just an average phone charger should work
Hello, I purchased the Deskimon Neo with a one-time purchase. Is the Orbit and Sprout model only available with a membership, or is a one-time purchase also possible? π
I am not sure if I am doing it wrong. I followed the instructions everything went fine towards the end. I unplug the ucb-c cable and plugged it back in and the screen is black. Any thoughts? :/
I had a similar issue. Make sure that both sides match exactly what's listed for the binary files. and remove the extra bottom row. You should only have three rows filled in. You can edit the left side.
The instructions should work without the battery plugged in, as soon as you use a battery, you need to make sure to turn power off first by holding the power button around 6s, then proceed to connect by holding the boot button as normal, then after reading/flashing you need to turn the device completely off by holding the power button again for longer than 6 seconds, then you can turn on.
I'll be updating the instruction manual for this soon, sounds harder than it is!ππΌ
It definitely flashes but nothing the screen did work before flashing. Is there a way to get it back it cost Β£35?

how do you change the color or the eyes?

Of course, send me an email at creativechance.business@gmail.com, and I'll prepare the files.
does any body know whats wrong when the esp dont charge battery. i have bought 3ex of the batterys that is written in the manual and non of them charges. I have also tried diffrent ESP
It should charge, does the battery icon become green when plugging in the battery and usb C to power?
no nothing happens. the battery icon is still white
Did you get the exact battery from the link? You could check the connections if + and - are the correct way around.
Other than that, the problem can only be with the hardware, so I would recommend reaching out to your seller. There's nothing I can do about that
It is unfortunate that, after purchasing Neo, there is no option to print the Sprout pot or comparable components.
So simple to get up and running, thanks. Is there a battery level indicator in the future? Also I think a mouth might be fun
Thanks for making Neo! He should display a battery icon on the settings screen, do you see it?

Will the 1.85 size esp32-S3 fit in this little guy? Or do you have a 3d printed file for such a size ?
i just got the file and now it's hard to find amoled display module, i have waveshare esp32 s3 1.28 round screen module.
aliexpress.com has them - I got mine within 6 days
any plans of adding new features like you mentioned in your video?

You've got mail!
How do I access the manual?
There's a pdf included in the zip file when downloaded
It would be nice to be able to connect it to WiFi, set a timezone and have it sync the time via NTP
Great files. Slotting them together is kinda hard. My question is, how do you get different eye colors? Is each bin file different for each Deskimon?
Yes the colors are made by using converted png files. So unfortunately with the limited space on the screen, its not possible to add more colors to one Deskimon file.
Does it need to be glued? The head detaches from the body when I hold it up.
It shouldn't need to be glued, but if it detaches you could use a bit of glue, I just wouldn't use something too strong if you haver want to take the screen or battery out.
Hey. I accidentally bought the 1.43" version. Is there any way we can have a mini version of this that would work with this screen? Pleeease! :D
I love Neo but is there any chance we can get the option to change the eye color within his settings? I dont know if its possible.. I appreciate it.

The model linked in the files has the correct connector.
Great print! Will you be adding any more programming?
There is more on the way!

With the updated head front model, both these problems are fixed!
What USB cable did you use so I can make sure it fits in the base perfectly as designed?
I just used a few I had around teh house, they all seemed to work fine, as long as it's not abnormally big or small. Just an average phone charger should work
How do we get the charging base?
It's a free download on my page
What about the updated head that keeps the screen in place for the charging dock?
Should be updated
OlΓ‘ estou com o mesmo problema apos carregar o firmware com sucesso ,ligo/desligo completamente mas quando tento ligar a tela fica sempre preta .
Hello, I purchased the Deskimon Neo with a one-time purchase. Is the Orbit and Sprout model only available with a membership, or is a one-time purchase also possible? π
You can also get those as a one time purchase, they are actually bundled together, just check them out on my page!
Can you send information about speaker? There is no model name or link where to buy it.
It comes with the screen linked in the manual
If you order the display from AliExpress, unfortunately you donβt get a speaker with it. π
Mine does
hola , no me deja descargar el archivo
Hey! I ordered the download for Deskimon but how do I get the internal parts; screen, etc? thanks! Can't wait to start building!
There's a link the guide to the components needed!
Hello, i bought the Deskimon Neo. But i only got the stl files. Where di i find the program and the instruction?
There's a zip file with the files and instructions in the zip file you get from Thangs
Hi! I just downloaded the Neo zip file and it only has the STL files
Yes sorry, the zip file was accidentality deleted while making an update 2 hours ago, but it's back now!
I am not sure if I am doing it wrong. I followed the instructions everything went fine towards the end. I unplug the ucb-c cable and plugged it back in and the screen is black. Any thoughts? :/
