I was worried about the hollows and not sure if I should print it or not, so glade I did. Had a couple of mistakes removing the supports and cleaning. other than that print worked flawless.
Printed with Saturn 4 Ultra.
I did not use the whole plate.
Printer: Creality K2 Pro (but that wasn't an option in the printer picklist)
Scale: 125%
Filament Brand: Cookiecad
Color: Witches Blue
I got a new printer for Christmas; I wanted to see what it was capable of so I decided to scale up this dragon and give her a go!
Sliced print time said 13 hrs 25 min but it actually took somewhere closer to 11 hrs with an Ultrafast 125% print speed.
She's a long one, approximately 30.5 inches. The table she's on is 31.5 inches long. Fully articulated, no problems at all. And she sounds crystalline when she moves. I freaking love her.
Also, this Cookiecad filament, the pictures don't do it justice. The Witches Blue is such a deep purple with blue shift, but the blue is not coming through as well in the pictures.
What did I do wrong? There's all this "support" I guess that's stuck between the connecting pieces. It's an absolutely beautiful design but I can't get all this gunk out.
My A1 Mini keeps giving me a warning that it needs supports. I printed anyway and had a disaster 3/4 of the way printed :( Yet the first one I did printed just fine (20 hrs no supports .08 layers, 15% infill)
Trying to print this and my A1 Mini keeps telling me it has floating regions and to use supports. Tried to print anyway, but after 12 hours had a mess. Changed the settings as per the file, but still having the floating issue. Any ideas?
Hey there, there is no floating parts, the slicers just say that due to the overhangs. I'd recommend checking your bed adhesion and cooling! The A1 defaults to a lower part cooling (60-80%) and I recommend 100%
It's set to 100% I believe but will double check, changed my settings from the default of my machine .08 layers, 15% infill, to .2 layers, 10% infill, and it printed fully just today. As we have only been doing this for 3 weeks so some things are taking time to learn. Thank you for answering back. Your dragons are amazing and my grandson LOVES them all. (wants a S'mores dragon next ;) )
That will depend on your settings, printer, and if you are doing multicolor or not. At 100% this is a 2ft long model so its a lot bigger than it may seem!
Hi everyone, I just joined Cinderwing and love the Crystal Dragon, what do I need to do to print a Jumbo 2m Long dragon, I did read it somewhere but can not find the info again?? Cheers Wesso

What colour/kind of filament is this? (newbie here)
idk but i wish they'd respond
These were made in resin.
Tracy, are the resin prints articulated as well?
They aren't any different from the FDM ones really! Just different layouts
F/U question: Are these supposed to be hollowed out or printed in 100% infill when doing so in resin?
you do not want them hollow, as you cant clean the insides :) they need to be printed full
Thank you 🙏
Responded. Sorry I didn’t get notified.
Sorry never saw this until now. They were printed with clear resin
omg what colors are those
how did you get it so long lol
The instructions do say not to use supports!
This is correct, my models do not need supports

I promise you do not need supports. :)
What is the minimum size you can print this at and still have the articulation work properly? I'm using a Bambu A1.
Thanks
Sorry I've just seen your 60-100% comment! Does that mean 60% is the smallest recommended size?
Yep! Folks have gone lower but I don't guarantee it'll work outside 60-100%
I seem to have adhesion issues with this print. I have tried twice and fails at about 3%.
Try cleaning your plate and using brims :)
I can’t download the file
Is it exactly 2 ft at 100%?
LOVE ALL YOUR DESIGNS DO YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE A FILE FOR THE XXL DRAGON THAT YOU CAN PLEASE SHARE.
That would be the Crystal Dragon 2025, and it is a subscriber only model :)
this turned out amazing!

I don't recommend using a .08 layer height! My dragons are made to print around a 0.2 layer height :)
Why is it 20 hours long to print? We've done a few dragons, some quite long that haven't taken longer than 8 hours.

It was 80% print with very small layers it seems lol (.08 layers) and 15% infill....so makes sense.
Hi, I am having an error pop on my printer telling me that floating parts? not sure what I am supposed to do? New at this any suggestions
You can just ignore it! A lot of slicers don't like the overhangs and get cranky about it, promise it'll print fine tho!

Hi there! You are looking for the Crystal Dragon 2025 version!
Is there a giant version of this? I have seen people print them but wasn’t sure how?
Hi there! You are looking for the Crystal Dragon 2025 version!
How do I get the five color version or do I have to color the two color models already included with the download?
There is not a 5 color paint job for this one! If you see any in the makes then folks painted it themselves :)
Just checking. I can definitely color it. Thanks
can i print it with lychee
Yes!
can all the big ones be scaled smaller?
Yes all my modesl can be scaled between 60-100% :)
amazing thank you want to print a few for the kids :)
