Made this articulated heart this morning using Flashforge Flexible PLA. It came out perfect on the first run. I printed the small one to test it. My 18 year old loves it. I'm certain my niece and nephews will like getting these for Valentine's Day.

This was NOT caused by bed adhesion. This was caused by poor top skin thickness.

I printed this on a Creality HI with regular pla. Some of it sticks together and looks like it shifted. Any idea why or how to fix?

It looks like most of it may have come loose from the bed while printing. I would recommend cleaning the bed with high quality dish soap like Dawn and hot water then dry it off with a micro fiber cloth. Try to avoid touching too much of the build plate with your hands. The oils from your skin prevents plastic from sticking

I've printed these for my daughter for Valentine's Day. I also made a couple of extra sets of the medium sized heart for my best friend's children for Valentine's Day as well. For their sets I used flashforge flexible PLA. (The bright red heart near an eraser in photos) For the other ones in the photos, I used regular PLA. They seem to be more satisfying with the PLA print as opposed to the flexible PLA print. I thought printing with a flexible PLA would be more satisfying and it is not. It doesn't have the fluid motion I've gotten with regular PLA. Overall and very happy and satisfied with these and definitely recommend them for a cool fidget toy print.

The link for your discord doesnt work. Can multiples be printed on one plate or do we have to print one at a time?

Eric P
Bearded Printer

Thanks for letting me know about the invite link!

Yes, multiple can be printed in one plate at a time. Just open it in your slicer, right click the one you want to copy and select "Clone" and it'll make a copy and place it on the bed.

I'm new to this. How do you make the joints a little stronger. My son broke a piece off already

Eric P
Bearded Printer

You could try scaling it up so the joints are a little thicker and add increase wall loops. You could also ensure you're not using weaker filaments like Silk or Matte filaments.

Can this be done with any 3D Printer or just the Bambo? I have a Longer LK5 Pro and im a beginner. Thank you!!

Eric P

It can certainly be printed on any properly working printer! Just follow the recommended slicer settings and you should be good to go!

I don't know if I ended up in your spam, but I tried emailing you because I signed up for a membership and there are still a lot of your patterns I can't download, including this one.

I printed the small one and it def did not wiggle once I broke it apart...I'm new...what settings do I need to adjust

Eric P
Bearded Printer

I recommend 3 walls when printing. However, there may be other factors that make it delicate and brittle.

Some filaments are more delicate than others when printed. Silk and Matte filaments, for example, will break more easily than regular filaments.

If you live in a humid climate, that could contribute to the brittleness of a filament as well as filament will absorb moisture. Investing in a filament dryer in this situation could help out tremendously.
