Project Ion is a compact, efficient solder fume extractor designed to keep your workspace air clean during soldering and other activities that produce fumes. Built with makers in mind, this DIY solution combines accessible 3D-printed parts and off-the-shelf components to provide a reliable, customizable air filtration system. With straightforward assembly and a modular design, Project Ion can be easily maintained and adapted to fit individual needs, offering both entry-level and experienced makers a practical tool to enhance workspace safety and comfort.

This project took roughly 6 months of R&D to bring to life, but I couldn't be more happy with the results.

I also curated my first build guide for this project since it's relatively complex and requires moderate understanding of soldering/electronics.

The 47 page build guide will give you everything needed to create on of your own. Including recommended print orientation, assembly steps, wiring diagram, and links to all relevant hardware and electronics.
