A variation of the traditional shoji lamp, this design weaves the timeless craft of Kumiko joinery into its panels through the Asanoha pattern, a geometric motif symbolizing a hemp plant. The pieces all print without supports and fit through peg and slot or twist lock mechanisms so no glue is required. Try out different filaments such as transparent PETG or Matte PLA on the shade to get different textures and light diffusion!

Instructions

• 3MF file and individual STLs are included
• Use a lower layer height such as .12mm for a higher quality finish and print (Optional)
• You will need a light kit that has threaded rings on the side to mount the lighting for this print

Lamp Base and Exterior

• No supports required
• Main components of the frame is connected through peg and slot friction joints, and the base is connected to the frame through a twist lock mechanism so no glue is required

Lamp Shade

• No supports required
• Increase Outer Wall Thickness to < 0.6mm (Assuming you are using a 0.4mm nozzle) to reduce wobbling and deformations of the shade
• It is recommended to print with standard settings rather than "Vase Mode" as it may be too thin and cause deformations in the shade

Filament

• Kexcelled Light Brown Matte PLA (Lamp Base and Frame)
• ESUN White PLA+ (Lamp Shade)
