Spikey
This cactus that spikes when it holds your keys!
ForgeCore and I have been working on this one for a while and we're happy to finally release it! It uses my Quilted Planter (download the version for real plants here) and a clever mechanism that makes the cactus spikes when you attach your keys.
We both have this model available, the only difference is that the one on my page works with the same mounts as all my other wall mounted planters.
How to use? The planter slots into the mount on the wall. A hook or magnet is used to hold your keys. When you place your keys under the pot, the weight of the keys raises a mechanism inside the cactus causing the spikes to shoot out!
But How does it work? The spines are 3d printed sticks. They poke out the holes in the cactus and are supported by a mechanism
The spikes are lifted by the internal gear mechanism, that translates the linear motion of the keys being lowered, into an upward motion that shoots the spikes out.
Required components:
Fidget Spinner Bearing: 22 mm x 8 mm bearings
Magnets (Optional, These are the same magnets used as all other ForgeCore designs) 5 x 3 mm magnet
Velcro Command Strip (Optional): Velcro Command Strips Filament I used: Cactus Green: Bambu Lab Dark Green Matte PLA Pot Light Brown & Spines: Bambu Lab Latte Brown Matte PLA Dirt Dark Brown: Bambu Lab Dark Brown Matte PLA
