Print-in-Place Toggle Locking Gripper
This gripper prints-in-place all as one piece with no supports! It utilizes two gear pinions with pivoting linkages to move the fingers. When the gripper closes the linkages go past center, causing the fingers to “Knee Lock” in place.
This one is similar in concept as this gripper but this one does not require any assembly.

I printed this model mainly because I liked the concept and the design features (may inspire me in my future designs). Unfortunately the tollerances are too big and sometimes instead of locking the mechanism, it skips a few teeth. I'll keep it just for the design and fidgetting, but will not use it as a gripper.
Awesome! The exact purpose of a model such as this.
Maybe that (but I am satisfied with the prints in other models). Or maybe the PLA was too soft and bends. No big deal for me. the print was mainly to see how it works in principle, I have to special use for it :-)
Maybe under extruding a little?
