Here is a Clicky Phone Fidget inspired by the original ‘fidget’ phone - the rotary 🙌🏼 To make it extra fun I designed it to be two fidgets in one: a clicky receiver and a spinning number dial.

Please note the following items are also needed for each clicky phone fidget: One keychain (ball bead chain style) One keyboard switch

Here is an Amazon link to the ones I recommend:) https://amzn.to/4kCodKI

3D Printing Instructions: 0.2 mm Layer Height for all parts except dial 0.16mm Layer Height is needed for the dial 15% Infill Supports added to Outer Shell piece only Pause added to insert keychain a.k.a. phone cord (see info for print plate #1)

I have uploaded a 3mf project file with the following print plates: Print Plate #1 (all parts except dial): one color, layer height 0.2mm, manual supports added to outer shell piece, pause print added at Layer 36 (layer height 4.60mm) to insert keychain

Print Plate #2 (phone dial): 2 colors, layer height 0.16mm, Arachne wall generator selected ‘on’

How to pause the print to insert the keychain:

  • When you are printing Plate #1, it will pause at layer 36 (layer height 4.60mm). When the print is paused, insert one end of the keychain into the outer shell and the other end in the receiver. I have designed the ‘holes’ in each part to match the two different ends of the keychain.
  • After the keychain is inserted I like to use blue tape to secure the rest of the keychain to the print plate so it isn’t jiggling around too much:)
  • Note: it is important to keep the Outer Shell piece and the Receiver near each other so that the keychain (phone cord) easily reaches both pieces. If you plan to print multiples I would merge those four parts into one object or assembly and then clone or copy them to keep them like my original configuration.

How to assemble (also see photo): Once all the parts are printed:

  1. Remove the supports out of the Outer Shell piece
  2. Insert a keyboard switch into the inner body piece
  3. Insert the inner body into the outer shell (it will snap together)
  4. Insert the peg thru the dial and then snap the peg into the front face of the phone
  5. Connect/push the receiver into the top of the keyboard switch

Have fun printing! 😊 Erin
