A key feature of this design is its visual pattern. Printing the box flat ensures that the heart motif comes out crisp and well-defined, especially compared to printing vertical walls. The box is closed using a separate lid, and for extra security and a decorative touch, it can be tied with a ribbon once filled, preventing it from opening accidentally.

The design also allows for easy two-color printing, even on single-extruder printers. By printing the heart pattern first and then changing filament mid-print, you can achieve a clean color separation without the need for a multicolor machine, while also minimizing filament waste during color changes.

How to Print Both the box layout and the lid are printed flat on the build plate. A layer height of 0.2 mm works well, with the entire thickness printed using bottom layers to ensure strength and consistency. To achieve the two-color effect, print the heart pattern centered on the build plate using your first color, then pause and change filament before continuing with the rest of the model in the second color, without removing the print. After printing, carefully fold the four sides inward without over-bending. Once filled, close the box with the lid and optionally secure it with a ribbon. Multicolor-ready files are also available for printers that support it.
