Hextraction Game Boards

This model is restricted by licensing terms.

These are the official game boards for Hextraction, the hackable, 3D-printable board game. I've created two versions - the Basic model uses minimal filament and prints fast. The "Fancy" Gutter version has many useful features, like ball-catching gutters and detachable feet, but consumes considerably more filament and time.

For assembly instructions for a basic board, watch the Hextraction launch video!

I've designed this to be as modular as possible, so you can create boards of any shape and size. If you're sizing a leg for a given slot, you want it to be 25mm taller for every additional slot between it and the end zone.

Hextraction is a 3D-printable, modder-friendly board game designed by me, Zack Freedman of Voidstar Lab. In addition to tiles, you'll also need 10mm steel balls or 3/8" slingshot ammo and a game board. To learn the rules and how to get started, watch the Hextraction video!

Hextraction is absolutely free - it's free of charge - all of my models are here on Thangs, commercial use allowed. It's free-form - you can play with any number of opponents, even zero. It's free to modify - you can create your own tiles and configure your own board.

Thank you for this amazing game. Here it is printed concurrently from my ender pro s1 and k1c. The green parts are ABS and the black is petg. Waiting for kiddo to wake up so we can pick a goal color. Than you again

A lot easier to put together than you might think, little bit of hot glue , a few clips and a edited frame that's 3 parts because I have a smaller build plate. Great creation

You forgot the 2x Universal End Zone.

The Gutter Leg Segment 50mm appear to be their own file now.

Does any of the pieces require support? Or are they all good to be printed?

Zack,

sup, love the motivation, If you saw the flow in my project world, you would chuckle, or cry.

I want to get this game, as a packaged unit, off to my kids.

I find alot of effort goes to nifty tile pieces, likely never used as intended, because the game surface element is crap, with little cohesive thought. glueing 47 poorly dimensioned objects together IS NOT the basis for a decent table game.

IE the hex locating grid, gutters, and goal bin were ONE piece, a useful table is had.

The heat set insert style feet have a 5.5mm hole for the insert. I've never seen an M3 insert with an OD that big. All of mine are ~4.5mm. These will fit my M4 inserts but the foot itself will need to be drilled out to accept an M4 bolt and I'll have to find a lower profile.

Also completely unrelated but why are there stls for "front leg" segments? The board doesn't have front legs and if you print them and put them in place at the front of the board they aren't quite the right length. Weird.

Any advice on printing the 5 by 15 grid on an Ender V2, 235mm by 235mm? I can't seem to get that portion to fit in the slicer. Looks like the file is like 235.4 or something like that. I am going to print multiple 5by7 for now and just glue them together.

For anyone wondering, some designers have remixed the Hextraction board, making it easier to assemble and adding cool features. Here is a board designed by Inauble for which I wrote full assembly instructions: https://makerworld.com/fr/models/477165#profileId-388193

Took some cajoling to get my ender 3 v2 to print something as wide as the build plate, but I eventually got tommi.paakko's 5-8 plate to work: https://thangs.com/designer/tommi.paakko/3d-model/Hextraction%205-8%20Plate-858676

Someone on printables has adapted the beta board for this

I'm in the same boat. Pity, as I was really excited to print this! Maybe the grid needs to be separated into 4 squarish sections rather than two that are the full width of the game board
